Dave,

Welcome aboard!

It was good to meet you when you came to DFW. But this is very important: you have to get yourself a real Scion name. You can't just be the "Scion guy" at Street Scion. We already have two "Scion Guys" here and they're -- well, you met them.

Anyway, you need to be "Street King" or "Fabulous Dave." Wait a minute! I got it! "High Plains Drifter!" Perfect!

See ya.

I kinda like Fabulous Dave for a nickname. What you think Walker?

Thanks Roger! I went through a phase a few years ago when I decided that I wanted to be a blues man and use the stage name "Driftwood Johnson". Sadly, that match never did strike. I like Fabulous Dave, but wouldn't it be cooler if we spelled it Fabbulus?

Fabbulus? Hmm. With that spelling it has sort of a "Gladiator" feel to it. JUst Kidding! But since you're a blues man, I definitely like "Driftwood." Can you play anything like Stevie Ray?

Uuummm.... Not really. I'm an acoustic guy, never really liked electric. But the biggest difference between Stevie's style and mine... is that he was really good.

You just had to take it into the gutter, didn't you? Did anybody ever teach you the formula for making a Blues name? Mine doesn't follow it exactly, but here it is.

There are three parts to a good blues name -

First: A disease, malady, injury, etc.
Second: A fruit - preferably non-tropical - or common animal
Last: The last name of a US President

Examples: Blind Lemon Jefferson, Lame Dog Clinton, etc.

Try it now and you too can have your own blues name!

Stevie Ray wasn't just good, he was awesome. ( I have to say that, he's family). I think Driftwood Dave sounds cool, or go old school blues and be Po' Boy Walker. We could go on for days!
