How long a speaker lasts all depends on how you take care of them. It doesn't look like these duals are overbuilt any if that's your thinking but for the price that they are asking they should be a well built speaker....the only difference will be the coil they put in them.

I don't have any, i am interested in these subs, and i dont know what kind of amp I would use to power them. I would do a two 12" setup, thats all i know.

I like the look of these subs too but I would suggest something less expensive that you can push pretty good using a smaller amp.....your electrical system in your car will thank you! Once you get the hang of how this stuff works then you might move up if you think you need to.......don't listen to your friends and get all caught up in the name brand game, you will never be happy that way.
