Houston Area- Need some recommendations
Swapping springs on these cars is super easy. All you need is a jack, jackstands, and a set of metric sockets. The ones used are 12mm, 15mm, 17mm, 19mm, and 21mm.
A spring compressor is handy, but the swap can be done without it.
An extra set of hands will make the job go faster and smoother.
Edit:
If you don't have the tools, a place to work, or would rather have some assistance from someone who has done it before, you might want to hook up with one of the clubs in your area. Scikotics has two chapters (North Houston and Houston) but your location really doesn't have much to do with which club you choose to join. The choice is purely up to you which ever one you would rather hang with. Team Scion Eyed has a small chapter in Houston as well. If you decided to join up with the North Houston Scikotics, your spring install could be done at one of the chapter's many install days (which would most likely mean your springs would be installed by me! I've dropped more boxes than most moving companies! lol).

This is awesome-- I appreciate all the help and suggestions!
After spending an entire day running around doing errands in the city i have decided not to drop the box. The area I live in (inside the loop) is not very receptive to lowered cars.
Now I'm just waiting for my rims to come in.

Wheel gap is your enemy. You hate wheel gap. To see wheel gap on your xB makes you very angry. You want to drop your box. Wheel gap must be eliminated. When I snap my fingers, you will wake up and you will hate wheel gap. You will want to lower your box as soon as possible.
