Default How To Change Air Filter for XB

ok im gonna give you the heads up on the Air filter changing in the XB..... for those of you that have stock air boxes that is.....ok... here we go....

ok when you go to the AutoZone, its a STP 9115 filter ...ok save you some time there..next.... when you get home make sure your not wearing anything nice, cause your gonna get dirty.... trust me (ruined shirt) ok there are two tabs on the front of the Air box pull those two tabs..k.... now pull towards you and lift....what its stuck oh yeah thats right the freakin Map sensor doesnt come off...GGGGRRRRR ok now here is where the help comes in.....ok.... BEFORE replacing the filter....take the rubber gasket around it off ()how come you ask) cause the freakin box will not go back into the original tabs in the back of the Air box.... i worked on that for 20 mins...... seriously.... so take the rubber gasket off fits fine box closes and your good for the next 20k.....

my 2 cents........THE POOTY HAS SPOKEN.................................................................

Capt, i dont think that it was that hard to change the filter dude and the Map sensor does comes off..

Cbucher to change the filter or to clean it you just have to put your hand thru the opening at the bottom. no need to take off anything on the front. i put the cold air in the xB without having to take anything off other than the stock air box/piping.

yeah but the one he's got you almost have to (I watched him install it) if you have the AEM you can get away with just moving the splash shields

Man, that's classic! Let me give you a better heads up. DONT go to autozone and buy the cheap ill fitting air filters. Go to the dealer and buy the right high-quality filter. The connector comes off the MAF if you push the button and pull. Taking the hose off the purge VSV may help also. The correct filter fits just fine. The Scott has spoken ( and the Pooty had best be listening). J/K Holla atcha boi!!!
