Ummm....don't?

just kidding..............use some paint designed for plastic.....i think it's called Fusion by Duplicolor. 1000 grit sand paper, 2 coats of primer, sand in between each coat, 2-3 light coats of paint (LIGHT COATS), 2000 grit sand paper in between each coat, 2 coats of clear coat.

^^What color did you do, what type of paint did you use and have you noticed any chipping since you never sanded it?

If you don't have to sand, then I'm all for it. I did on my truck interior to make it pretty smooth, but if it's not necessary, that's cool.

You can do it without sanding, however, if you ever used anything other than water to clean the interior i would suggest sanding.

There are paints specifically for that, i did my whole crx interior in black, it never chipped or faded, the interior was blue and i re-did it black, when i say everything, i mean everything, door panels, dash, center console, back panels, carpet, headliner, etc.

This are the only 2 interior pics i have. you can see where the carpet was painted around the shifter.
(Center console not in, i just gotten done putting an Si tranny in it)

You can see a lil bit of the door panel.

Another paint project of mine..

did you sand it smooth? or just sand it ruff?

i think your supposed to sand it with high grit so it will sand smooth and not gritty which will happen with the lower grades of grit.
i dont even know if i am wording that stuff correctly anymore....
but when i worked with wood i would use a low grit to start off with for the worst parts and then use a high grit to get it all nice and smooth.

If you want the smoothest finish, use close to 800-1000 grit sandpaper. It will take very little layers of rough texture off and leave a really, power smooth finish.

blck n blonde, dont use sand paper unless you have used amorall or any kind of dash shiner bs... if you have ONLY used water to clean the interior then you should have NO problem at all. So that means you can take the piece off, give it a 2 or 3 LIGHT coats, let it dry, then put back in the car.

Honestly i would not think of painting anything in the car right now, is getting too cold.
