Which speakers/sound systems are the BEST of the BEST??
Hey everyone, I am looking for a loud a$$$ sound system.. so, therefore, I dont know which speakers are the best, of the best! . . and what size are good also that'll bring out ALOT OF SOUND... so far I found some Pioneer but I ordered em and tried em, and they are crap!! . . .so I need some help, BAD! if you can leave a thread on what is your pick.. it'll help alot THANK's!! - ZACHH....
Do you want it loud or do you want it to sound good? Or both? I think Robert from OKC (trebor) has a really good ear for systems if you want a really good clean sound at high volumes. It might not pound you to death, but it will be dam clean. If you can get a hold of him he probably can give you some really good advice before you buy I have an all Diamond Audio system. It sounds good. It is pretty loud too. I get about 135db out of a pair of 10s and 4 6.5s. I like it, but the bass is becoming an issue for me there is way too much. I am running only about 1100 watts total system power. The best thing about Diamond is warranty. 3 years on the subs and lifetime on the amps if installed by an authorized dealer. I think that is pretty ballsy to warranty an amp for life.
Everybody is going to have a different opinionn of what they think is best of the best....There are a number of very good brands out there. I am putting in Boston Acoustic Pro Series 6.5 in all 4 doors running off of an MTX 1004 amp plus 2 Pro Series 10" subs running off an MTX 1501D amp which I had in my last truck and I KNOW it is very clean and hits very hard.....and both of those brands are very very good.

I had in my Explorer 3 12 inch Alpine Type-R's and 2 sets of Type-R componets...running off a cda-9855. It was really loud, and sounded clean...I personally like Alpine and JL Audio the most. I hit 146.3 db with my explorer...i was running 3 MRF-605 amps and 1 4 channel V12 amp
Thanks for the kind word Vaughn!!
Even the best of the best will sound like a total turd if you don't sound deaden your Scion!! That would be a good place to start so you can actually hear the changes made to your system.
As far as subs go, there are alot of them out there to choose from. I wouldn't know where to begin on recommending one, I've been out of the car audio scene for quite a while and haven't heard much of the newer stuff. Most of it that I've seen these days seems to be well built. In my own Xb, I've tried two 15" subs, a single 12", and a single 8", they've all sounded about the same to me once I get them matched to the rest of my system.
Maybe further down the line if you have more specific questions, I may be able to help. Hope to see you at the Asylum!!
