A mod is something done to your vehichle, that was not done from the factory, Wich includes tinting, Lighting etc. To each to there own , Quit being an ___, Who cares if some on wants to say my tint job is a mod, etc
I know you edited your post about my curtains Rhe-Rhe. I'd say they are a mod, it gives me more privacy when the box starts rockin'. It's actually an addition to my window mod - my tint.
BTW, I'm also an SL Super MOD. Mind you.

also on that note if you are considering headlights a mod then tint should be in there too. cause new bulbs are just changing the brightness and/or color of the lights. and tinting changes the darkness and/or color of the windows. so if you dont want to count tint as a mod then i wouldnt consider headlights a mod unless you get angel eyes or hids.

If the box is a-rockin' don't come a-knockin' HAHA
Painted Calibers=Not a MOD...it's a necessity (for me, that is) lol
If Scion lists it as an option, it is an option.
If it is the simple replacement of a normal 'wear item' with a new one of the same size/type it is maintenance. (This includes aftermarket replacements that are slightly different but are within normal specifications, like my Sylvania Cool Blue headlight bulbs.)
If it is neither of those, it is a mod.
Some mods are pretty wimpy, and may not come up to a hard core modder's "standards" for being a mod, but if it changes the vehicle so that it is no longer within specs/reccomendations/etc. it is a mod.
Change tire size, it's a mod. Add tint, it's a mod. Change lightbulbs, it's maintenance. Change light fixtures, it's a mod. Add ANYTHING listed at the Scion site, it's an option.
Yeah, that includes some intakes and springs and pedals and interior lights and shift ***** and wheels and such, but that's just the way it is - if the manufacturer offers it as an option, it IS an option.
*dons asbestos underwear*
A lot of what the frantic 'modders' call mods are nothing more than options. Some of what they scoff at as not being a mod (aftermarket tint, for example) is actually a mod, though minor.
If one went through the Scion site and put every option that would fit on their car, it wouldn't be "modified" - it would only have a lot of expensive options on it so their car could be "different just like all the others."
Modifications are NOT something offered by the manufacturer as an option.
Enjoy! :D
