Defintely agree that winter tires are not needed in the DC area. Just have a good set of all seasons and you should do just fine...

if you have decent all season tires you can probably get by. I have the optional 18's with eagle gt's and I got stuck this winter when snow was falling/accumulating heavily. It can get scary especially on uphills and steep downhills. I wish i have winter tires...i might invest for a set next time.

While it doesn't make a lot of sense to run pure winter tires in the DC area, there are all-season tires and then there are ALL-SEASON TIRES.
