I'm not sure, but every sunday or so out in virginia beach near pungo, I see a group of cars out by pungo pizza. Not sure what they do, but looks to be some auto-x.

Go to SCCA.ORG and check the region. I use to auto-x at Pungo airfield. Not the nicest in the world, but it was still fun. If you dont mind driving up to Northern VA they have a huge group up there.

do you have to pay for the pungo airfield runs? Or be a member of the auto-x club?

and from what I hear about the pungo airfield... the paving out there blows. They also do drift events out there from time to time and I haven't heard much good things about that place....

Pungos surface is horrible. it is concrete so is killer on the tires, has gras growing up and potholes everywhere. Only positive is they chalk the course so it makes it very easy to see where your going!!
Pic below shows the condition.

I wonder if they will do any of the drift events again at Pungo this year. May not be fancy, but they sure were fun to watch.
