Brown's Toyota/Scion of Glen Burnie issues
Anyone have trouble with these guys? Every time I go in for service they look bored out of their minds and tend to ignore me. Not to mention they've told me twice that my power steering fluid was dirty and when I go to check it the fluid is clean.
Are there any other reliable shops I could take my car to? I was going to try the carmax/toyota dealership in laurel off route 1.
I'm just looking for someone who is straight-forward with me and might actually show me what is wrong with my car if they find something. My old mechanic would do this but he's left the business.
EDIT:
In other words, where do you get your tC serviced and do you like them?
GB has kinda lost my trust, they could be perfectly fine for all I know.

I've chatted with the sales people before and they're all very nice.
Maybe I just go there on the wrong days...
Unless I get some suggestion off of here I'm going to try out laurel next, if I don't just do it myself. All I'm going to need is an oil change and brake pads, so I think I can get that all done myself.

Logosamor, my name is LaMont, I'm one of the Sales Managers (former Scion Manager) at Brown's. I haven't been on the site in a while but just happen to run across this post. I just wanted to let you know that I don't take situations like this lightly and I have printed your post and showed it to the General Manager, Service Manager, and Parts Manager and we are looking into it. It ____es me off knowing how hard I have worked to build a reputable Scion Sales Department and to have another department within the dealership tarnish our image. Thank you for bring this situation to my attention because if it has happen to you then it has probably happen to others and that is not acceptable. If you or anybody else ever has any questions or concerns you can reach either myself (LaMont Matthews) or our current Scion Manager Charles Gabriel at 410-761-9000. Again, thank you for your honesty I appreciate the business of you and everyone else who has either purchased a car from us or used our service department.
^ nice to see someone who works there who plays a big part at that location to post here. May actually change my mind about that location.
Brown's happens to NOW be my local Scion/Toyota dealer. First time i went there shopping around, I had no problems. The guy who helped me knew damn near everything. Owned a few of the different Toyota/Scion models I've been interested in, and had a huge knowledge base.
Second time i went there was different - different salesman - said he was 'new' to the location, but not to selling cars. I wanted to test drive two vehicles. Toyota Corolla, and Scion xA (unfortunately, the xA i wanted - RS 1 - was sold as we walked on the lot, hehe, but there was another still there) So i drive the Corolla first. Then the saleman wanted me to start filling out the paper work immediately for the Corolla after driving just the 1st of the two I wanted. Yea, ok, i understand that's being a 'good salesmen.' Make the Sale. So, I'm smarter than that, insisted that I wanted to drive the xA. This is where it gets GOOD. The Salesman says - "What's an xA?" Ok, seriously? I'm at a Toyota/Scion dealership. What's an xA? So i told him EXACTLY where the car was sitting and what it looked like. So i wait, and wait, and wait, and finally he brings around a ....TOYOTA YARIS. um, k.
Here's the conversation at that point:
Me: Dude, that's not an xA.
Salesman: Yea, it is
Me: um, no, it's not
Saleman: ::walks around, looks at back of vehicle:: oh.
I wasn't too happy. I wasn't buying from him no matter how much I liked a car.
Only side comment is that I'm not sure if there's a huge difference between the new side and the used side. I assume not, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, I bought my tC at Laurel Carmax in 2005. I had no problems what so ever. I've been in there several times for parts for my other Toyota vehicles in the past, and they serviced my tC's free oil changes.
I'll probably go back there when I get my next Toyota/Scion - Looking to be an xB2 probably within the next 6-12 months to replace my '94 Corolla.

Lets just say i had so much toruble with browns i wouldnt even buy my car there. I went to carmax in laurel which is 30 mins away then to deal with them. For one i went to test drive a car and they acted like they didnt want me to, just because im young doesnt mean i dont have money( they wanted to run my credit before i drove the car), and i went up there after i got my car from carmax and i wanted to order wiper blades for my xB & tC and that its self was horrible i was never told my parts came in, they didnt care i didnt even get that " post card" they told me i should of, i will never buy anything from them ever again.
^ Just ordered my xB from Jerry's. So far so good, they just gotta get me my color (at best 2 days, at worse 2 weeks). Plus they have free car washes if you get your car from them ;)
Though apparently one of the shop guys is all excited cause i'm the first to order the '08 xB with the Navigation System.
