Default A sad day to be me

Everyone who knows me as a jokester...

THIS IS NOT A JOKE!

I work a 2nd shift at a best buy warehouse in Elkridge Md.

At 2pm I park my xB and punch in.

At 9pm I clock out, go to parking lot and my xB is gone...

REPEATING... MY 2006 xB Polar White w/Blue stripes IS GONE...

I go back into the building and have my boss check the video tape
< that only records when there is lots of motion >
while I am waiting for Howard County's Finest to get there and
fill out a theft report.

The camera shows my car was there at 3pm and the next picture
at 5pm it was gone...

I am very upset to put it mildly...
My head is spinning...
Please let me off this rollercoaster called life...

I have no clue as how I will get to and from work.
They are looking for a reason to get rid of me anyway.
A cab will run me $22 to get to work but since it crosses into another county
the same cab company won't pick me up to go home.
I have a 91' F150 but it is in South Carolina.
I guess I could go there by bus and drive it back... 8hr drive.

Whoever took my ride better pray to their god
that the police find them before I do because if I find them 1st....
I see jail time in my future...

Sorry had to take a deep breath and relax...

I guess that's it...

To all my friends,
Best wishes,
The one and only Cyyclopse signing off, out, over, done, and through.

Do you work for 622 or 722? I know its all the same building, but Im just wondering.

If someone up there is trying to get rid of you, let me know who is giving you crap and Ill see what I can do to straighten it out.

Good luck on recovery.

Hey Mark, We appreciate you bringing your car to our show last weekend, and for taking a 1st place trophy. I'm sure this is really hard on you because you put a lot of effort in your car. We will keep our eyes out down here in the valley.

wow, that really sucks. i hope you get your box back in good condition.

and you can't get fired because you can't get to work because your vehicle was stolen while parked on company premises and their lazy security camera didn't catch it. if best buy fires you for that, they must want to make you a very rich man when you turn around and sue them for wrongful termination.

Best Buy is an at will employer here in the state of Maryland. They can terminate anyone, at any given time for any reason. There is no contract for anyone at a store level or warehouse that he works in. They can let you go whenever they want to.

I could walk into work one day making the decent money that I do and the next day be fired and they wouldn't have to give me a single explanation for it.

I worked for Circuit City when they eliminated all commissioned employees from their staff. They fired half the store, in every store, nationwide with no notice. We were given a letter the day before stating that there was a mandatory meeting the next morning at a certain time. I was able to keep my job at a pay cut since I was new to the company then but my pay was next to nothing. They had police carrying guys out that had been there 10 years or more making over 70k a year.

yeah, i'm aware of law of employment at will, but i'm pretty sure that if you walked out, saw that your car was stolen from the employee parking lot, and your boss fires you because you can no longer commute to work for a brief period, i'm almost positive that a lawyer could make a very legitiment case to sue for.

while it is true that you can be fired at will for absolutely no reason lest you are a member of unionized labor, most companies like to have a legitiment, documented reason for job termination because it is the best defense against a lawsuit for wrongful termination.
