i say the girl needs to be taught a lesson, yes my parents bought me my xB, but i appreciate it to the greaest extent possible, i got an amazing deal with my folks when they bought it for me. All i had to do was get good grades (check), pay for any mods i want to do to it (check over 1k so far), and help with the insurance (check), and believe me, i know a lot of people in my school who drive fancy cars and dont give a rats ___ about them, so i say its his money and her stupidity, let him sell it

MY 2 CENTS~

Maybe you can tell her that you got rid of it! but actually store it for a few months..

Make her prove to you that she is responsible enough to have the car.. Instead of trading it in and her holding a grudge against you since thats what us women do..

We are alien's you know, we are a rare breed.. But If I can help anyway, just let me know~

So i know that you must have your reasons for selling your daughters car, and i respect you for that. However, if its just because she wouldn't wash it i don't think its a smart choice to sell it. You won't get your money back this early in the car's life. Even with your $6,000 of scion goodies, not many people/places that buy cars look at oem goodies to amount to much.

Ground the car for a while. Tell her that in order to get back she has to prove that she is responsible enough to own a new car. Explain to her that not many kids recieve new cars, and that she should respect what you have provided. Even make her wash the car as its grounded to show even more respect for it. After say a month, let her have it again. Tell her if she keeps it up, its hers. If she lets it go again, it will be sold period. But this is just friendly advice, whatever you decide to do is your call.

I just hope what you do decide, you won't regret later down the road. I've always payed for my own stuff so i don't really know what its like for a parent to give me a new car. Its not that they couldn't, i just wanted to earn my way. Just be aware that if you do sell it, you and your daughters talk connections will be non-existant for a while and she will "hate" you. I know this because, its pretty obvious you take away something that big. Especially at a 16/17 yr old age. (assuming shes just old enough to drive)

Again, don't take any of my post the wrong way. Just friendly advice from one scion owner to another.

Cya

PNiceB, it's $45 to list a car, plus pics + odds and ends.
so I've dropped ~$150 on e-bay cars (did Rubicon twice & Scion once)

the guy at E-bay basically told me to do just what we are talking about, list it on e-bay for exposure, and sell it however.

he said the $45 for e-bay was better than the $50 for Autotrader because e-bays gets more views. go look at my auction, it had like ~2500 views last time i checked.
basically, E-bay has my $45, and i still have the car.

Dave, e-mail sent, there are 77 pics here:

SirScion, well said. you are articulate!!

I want $20,500 for the car. and to be honest, i've started using it as a DD, and WOW, i see why you guys are loving these cars.

Here's the list. The XM has not been activated, and it has one more free oil change.
do all the Scion's have 5yr/60 warranty, or just the 05's?

PM or e-mail me and i can send you this in EXCEL,
mrsdaisy@juno.com
or you can nuke it out by building your own scion on their website.

car is in Charleston SC, but will deliver within reason.

will take a $3~5k beater on trade plus cash, if you have proven yourself with your first car to your parents, and are ready to move up.

one reason i bought this was the high mileage warranty, she was going to go to college out of state, and i did not want crazy repair/maintenance bills.

The Enkei wheels that came on the RS 1.0 where part of the package and there was no extra charge for it. There was also no extra charge for a few of the other things you mentioned. I am also surprised that they sold you the 6 disc changer with a "complimentary" one year subscription. The price of the 6 disc changer plus a one year subscription to XM would be about the price they are charging you. If that is the case, how is the subscription free? Just wondering.

Thomas, the problem is you can't build a Special Release car on the website now, since they are not offered.

from thier website, i thought the SR was 18650 starting price for a stick, and the rims are probably the only difference bet ween the 18650 and the base 17000 msrp for a non special release.

we bought it with 1500 miles on it, so i don't have the window sticker.
