Default $1000 off tC Supercharger?

I was at the dealership last week to pick up my license plates, and one of the guys working there mentioned to me that they dropped the price of the tC TRD Supercharger by $1000! That's a tempting offer now...

Ya... I don't know about that. I'd get it in writing maybe. Are you sure they aren't just having a sale?

I just spoke with Walser Scion (where I bought my car) and they said that it was a Walser decision to readjust their accessory pricing. Final price (including tax and installation) is $3453. I guess they were adding on a high profit margin to the accessories. I do remember that they had the supercharger priced at over $4000.

Again, this was a Walser decision, not a Scion decision.

It's still kind of a letdown to learn that the dealer price is more (sometimes a lot more) than the price quoted on Scion's website.

From what I understand, having the dealer install it does not void the vehicle's warranty, although I don't know how they treat it when a different Scion dealer installs it!! In terms of the warranty for the supercharger itself (and I might be wrong on this one, but it's what I remember the sales manager telling me), if it is added on after vehicle purchase, it has a one year warranty. But if it is purchased at the time of vehicle sale and installed on a "new" vehicle, it carries the same warranty as the car itself.

That is exactly right. It has the full warranty if it is installed at time of purchase. There is a mark up as any dealership makes most of their money in the service dept. Not as much as there would be if it was any other car as Scion does have a closer labor cost to the amt of time it actually takes...that's why a lot of techs don't like the cars. They get paid for the time and it actually takes that long to do it.

So do you really save 1000 dollars or do they mark up on installation???

It was just that one dealership that readjusted their accessory prices (in other words, decreased their profit). Their previous price was $4667 and it is now $3450. Considering installation is probably a whole day of work, that's a pretty darn good price!

Did they mark down anything else? Like battery tiedown and oil cap - that'd be nice so then I could get them

Don't quote me on this one, but I'm fairly certain that they dropped the price on everything. I have a printout of what all their tC accessories cost before, so if you call and ask, we can know if the did it for everything!

I'd be interested in trd shocks and struts. Depending on price.

How are they doing that since the 07 kit hasn't even been developed yet?
