Carlson Toyota & Scion is constructing a new sales and service location off 129th Avenue NW in Coon Rapids, MN. It is off HWY 10 and Round Lake Boulevard, 2 minutes from my home. There new location will be complete and open some time in August, the Grand Opening is yet to be determined. Donato Vecere the Certified Sales Manager at the current Carlson Toyota location was very interested in the prospect of having a ScionLife/MNScion event. It would be held the week of their Grand Opening to promote business. The details are yet to be determined, but it will be an all day event, most likely on a Saturday. They will have a section of the lot open for all your Scions and most likely there will be a judging of our rides. There will be gifts given to those who participate and awards to the best looking Scions. Food and beverage will most likely be provided. There might be a small entry fee of a few bucks to cover event costs. More information to come as construction of new dealership continues.
What I need from all of you right now is a basic idea of how many people would be interested in coming to this event. I also need to find some people that might want to help me set up and run the event. If anyone is interested in helping with event or has any ideas of what we could do, please let me know. This is all still in the making, the actual date and time is YET TO BE DETERMINED. The event and its’ schedule are still under construction just like the new dealership. This event will be open to ALL SCION OWNERS of ALL AGES. You don’t have to have a modified or tuned Scion to come to the event, stock is fine.
Thanks all...

The event wont be till August so it gives everyone some time to get some last minute mods in if they need, it should be a blast. I am thinking that I might be able to get my kit back on and have it painted by the event.

I don't work at Carlson, would be nice on parts discounts though. I do stop there for parts and service periodically, even though I bought my box from Scion City, it nearby. The new dealership is literally 2 min from my home, so I will be going there for ALL my service when it opens. Looks to be one of the nicer dealerships and service centers in the area. I just want to spread the word around and get others hooked on the "Scion way of Life."
A picture of the new dealership is posted on myMSNspace under Scion photos. It looks almost complete, but need all of its' interior still.

I met a gentleman by the name of Terry Cole with Lund International (www.lundinternational.com) at a gas station near my home by chance this morning. Their company designs and produces car & truck accessories and parts. They have a kited Scion tC that they designed and took to SEMA, which he was driving and gassing up at that station. It looks really nice with custom two-tone paint and interior. I have added pics to myMSNspace below (I really need to get a photobucket account setup). He was very interested in brining the car and having it on display for the show. I think that it would be great to have dealers/business Scion’s at the show.
Dose anyone have any ideas of other companies that have Scions as a show/business vehicles that I could contact and add to the show? I thought about LeRoy’s Custom Paint right away. They have done a few Scions but they all get sold right away. Dose anyone know who bought any of them and could get those cars to come to the show? LeRoy’s has done 2 tC’s, 1 xA and 1xB with custom paint to my knowledge, and their logo is always painted on the back. I called LeRoy’s and they can’t give out any information as to who those cars were sold to. Let me know, thanks…

Doesn't Le Roys still have the Maroon xB they did with the skulls? As far as I knew they weren't selling that car. I saw that tC at SEMA last year, nice body kit. I think it was out at the State Fair last year too.

Nope, they borrow these cars from the dealer, paint them, modify them, charge the dealer and then give them back. The dealer sells the car and gives LeRoy's the difference in price.
The last xB they did, was that black one with the red candy coat skulls that you are speaking of, they purchased that one. They traded it in for a GTP I believe, and they don't know where that one went or who bought it, it was a dealer trade. I'm trying to hunt that one down if anyone sees it or knows of its location.

Yea I sold Circuit City a couple in town and I think it is called Tonka Cycle in Minnetonka has a couple of cool looking xB's. I did not know that LeRoys sold the maroon one, that explains why they didn't come to any more meets or anything. They had a lot of plans for that car...they were going to do video and exhaust and some other stuff...guess it must have fallen through.

So I am having a hard time finding company and or business Scions to come to the show, but that is OK. It will end up being an open entry where we will all line up together on the new lot; company and personal cars intermixed.
Looks like there might not be an entry fee at all now. Carlson will defiantly be supplying food and beverage. I have some people that can get some Freebie stuff for gift bags and prizes. Though if you would like to donate anything or have someone who can get some cool stuff, let me know. Still think that there should be $ donations to cover the plaques and trophies for the judging, ideally. We will need to look for people who can be impartial judges. Carlson’s sales and service department could fill those shoes easy.
Will post with more info when it comes.

No new info on the event at the moment... just something neat!
Went over to Carlson Toyota for an oil change and the shop guys almost shat their pants at the sight of the box... kind of funny. The tech drove the car in the tiny garage killed it 3 times and laughed saying "and I thought my clutch was touchy." He drives a modified early 90's MR2, black and really nice.
Got to look at FJ Cruiser and test drive a Yaris…. they’re nice! The 3-door liftback has much more room than the 4-door. The SAME Scion parts go into the Yaris and you can get the SAME dealer assessors as the Scion xA as in SAME PART NUMBERS! I’d get the Blazing Blue Pearl 3-door with the TRD 18’s… they’re back! Its way cute…Check it out!

More news will be posted later on the new event, got a lunch deal with the owner next month to figure out the details. They are also pursuing the topic of trying to get the Five-Axis Scions there for the opening. From my understanding they do have to pay for them to be there.
