toaster, fridge, toy box, and all the other "people think they're clever" comments?

I've had my toaster only a week and already I have heard it many times. It's funny how the xB makes carless pedestrians any folks at the bus stop want to shout at a total stranger. I just laugh and tell them, "At least I have a car."
I had to laugh at my husband's co-worker yesterday. He wouldn't shut up about my toaster until I parked it next to his dropped and pimped '94 Blazer. The similarity is quite striking.

Honestly, I love the attention. I used to be a die hard GM driver. Five years ago when I was driving a Camaro, if someone had told me I would someday drive a Toyota I probably would have given them a swift kick in the *****, but these little cars kick ___

 

When I first got my tC, there were plenty of people that seemed to stop and look, trying to figure out what I was driving. Some people even stopped in front of me so they could get a good look. That alone has been somewhat annoying, so I have know idea how someone with an xB can handle the comments that go with the looks.

 

I get a lot of looks and comments about my box too… I love it! The comments I get don’t bother me at all! The car is odd and so am I.

 

My neighbor calls it the "go-cart" What does he know, he drives a Volvo CrossCrounty Wagon. (Fridge on wheels).

I usually hear "what kind of car is that" and "does it get good gas mileage" I love to reply that my last tank averaged 30 MPG!!

 

It doesnt stop, only latly it seems to have let up a bit.

I had the 2nd xB in the state, placed my order over 6 months before they brought them to MN, this was 27 months ago that I picked it up, so nearly 3 years ago that I ordered it.

The first month I had it, I drove all over the place, first new car. No one else had them, so it made it even more cool.

Everywhere I went everyone said somthing and everyone looked. Now, it doesnt seem like anyone looks. I remember almost causing accidents because people would watch my car and not the road.

So I'll get to the point here...I took it down to Stillwater the first few weeks I had it. The streets were packed with pedestrians and motorists. I saw a very old man walking along the sidewalk, kids were around him (he was within eashot of a ton of people). He stopped walking as I rolled by, stood straight up turned his body towards me and screamed. "Jeses Christ thats the ugliest peice of $hit I've ever seen!"

I wont ever forget that, because all the people standing around him erupted in laghter, as I put my d|ck bewteen my legs and drove away.

Had a guy about a month later yell basically the same thing at me out his window. Except it had more profanities following it. That stuff happend on a daily basis, now it rarely happens.

I have about 100 more of these stories...lol. So dont get me hammed and you wont have to hear them.

 

i took mine back home to a small town in PA this summer, wow, i really got some looks, they looked at it like i was riding a unicorn through doowntown

 

"scion?!? why'd you get a scion, aren't they a cheap car company like kia or something?" I HATE THOSE!!! it's so irritating how people can go ahead and under estimate the name because it's new. sorry had to vent, a jerk off approached me a couple days ago and started ridiculing my car. btw he was driving a saturn.

That's what I find so amusing. The ones who are making fun of my toaster are always the ones with a POS car or no car at all.

i just got one this weekend in blane..i was at a light and this wagon thing pulls up and a guy in the back askes what is that? and my old lady told him! then he said that thing is so ugly you have to love it.... i was about to tell him that his mom probly thinks the same about him.... but i thought better of it.

black it slows down untill you mod it!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

 

Just smile knowingly ... anyone who doesn't own one is missing out on the best-kept secret in town.
