Ok, The website for MN Scikotics is up and running for the most part. If anyone have suggestions on how to improve it please let me know.

I'm looking at GoDaddy web hosting and the best plan I believe that can work is the Deluxe Plan. It should be sufficient space to have picture galleries for a while.

to re-coup some cost, I was thinking about running some Google ads and get sponsors to help. Any left over money maybe can help buy a prize to give out or something.

I am just waiting in the wings for somebody to tell me they're ready to go live, and need the sponsorship. I think this has been a really busy summer for people, and you'll probably see the BWW Tuesdays resume now that "School has started" again, too. :o) Right Scikotics??

I think this thread has died. I know chanman was working on getting the site up and running, but nothing has happened. How about I just purchase a domain name and launch the site on my server. I could have a preliminary site up and running in a few days and those who want to help pitch in for the cost of the site can do so with a paypal donation (or we could launch google ads on the site.

If I launched the site, would anyone actually go to it? It would feature forums, detailed member pages and a calendar for any events in MN.

 

I think it is something that Josh and I need to take a serious look at again. Our chapter has saved up some money over the last few months to purchse it. I'll let you know what Josh and I figure out.

 

If I host the site on my server there would be no real cost other than purchasing the domain name. I'm sure once we have the site up and running, people would offer to help out with costs by paypal donations on the site.

And I'm sure we could get some local sponsorships with Scion dealers who would be willing to give a few hundred dollars for us to feature them on the site. I just think if we wait and wait and wait, it will never get done.

 

Josh and I are owrking on something that will help us. Just give me about a week or so. I'll let you know then.
