Sorry man - I already have a handle on the Judging and the music. The Graffiti artists were a nice to have but to be honest it's not something I really even looked at much.

That wasn't much of an attitude - it was just my opinion on it.

quotes from phillythunder

“yeah you can come up just to check out the show. but to show its only $15, it goes to a good cause, and you'll get tons of swag all day long.”

“Scion corporate is shipping us 3 pallets, yes pallets, of Scion accessories. Its going to be a blind assortment. We will be giving these away. So if you think your car isnt up to snuff to show, at least come out for some accessories to get ready for the next show.
And there will also be 3 of Scion's tour cars on display.
come out, enjoy some food, music, cars, and get some free parts!!”

“i heard about the chaos as well.
to answer your question...it will be very organized...NO CHAOS!!”

“yes there is a system in place...gotta show scion keys, to get scion accessories!!”

“HOLY COW!!!
we just got done unloading 6 (yes SIX!!!) pallets of accessories....
6 sets of alloy wheels...fogs lights for all models...spoilers for all models...xm radios...shift *****...steering wheels...'
you name it we got it today, and we're giving it all away on sunday!!
even if you Scion is stock, you should come out, make a donation, and get some parts....from stock to not with just a visit to Import Showdown!!!”

Everyone understands that it is not easy to run these kind of events however you should not imply that people will get free stuff for registering and then when they show up they have to buy raffle tickets.

The most annoying thing was that we had to fill out our information on the back of all the raffle tickets but if you missed the number you were SOL.

It was very hard to hear the raffle #'s over the DJ and everyone's systems.

Let's be honest, this was a "benefit", but if it weren’t for the false premise of getting free accessories the turn out would not have been as good.

Also, with the whole name and phone number on the back of tickets, there was a blonde haired woman at the ticket table who said that we did that so if for some reason we had to leave early and our number was called, we would get a call letting us know we won something. That, however quickly turned into 5,4,3,2,1...NEXT PLEASE!

I dont think anyone is complaining that it was all for a good cause but the advertising leading up to the event placed an idea in peoples heads and that idea was quickly shattered be the events that actually went on.

Yeah, i couldnt let this one slip on through. Ill let everyone in on what exactly happened 2 years ago when TEAM decided to host their first event.

For those who do remember, it was the following day right after the HIN Atlantic City. HIN roll in was a Friday night .... prep was Sat and the show was Sat night. Jenn was nice enough to book hotel rooms in A.C. for everyone, remember? Sat night we all were headed for the Philly area and we all ( bout 20 to 25 ) were to stay at Adams. This was a very gracious offer, but he really didnt have the room. Some of us stayed at a local hotel. I remember we checked in around 2 AM and were then re-gathered around 8 or so that morning. We all headed down to the show which was only a hop, skip and a jump from Adams house.

Upon arriving we were greated by some TEAM employees who gave us custom Scion hats .. custom shirts ... TEAM swag which included 2 different sized note pads, a frizbee, pens, Scion key chains and some other misc. stuff. The price to roll in .. i believe it was $10 ( although im not sure, it may have been free ). If you wanted something to eat there was a roach coach there and his prices were average. I remember the ice cream man being busy cause it was so damn hot out.

Now at the top of the hill there was a table set up with a Red Cross van next to it. If you wanted anything on the table it was going to cost you, but 100% of the proceeds went directly to those who were there from the Red Cross. This was when the little Jada Yellow xB had just hit the market, and was selling like hot cakes on Ebay. I did see some people walking away with one or 2 ... so i went up to see. I ended up giving the R.C. $40 for a case ( 8 or 10 in the case, i really dont remember ) and then turnign around and selling them on Ebay myself for a hell of alot more money.

The show itself sucked, cause the judges didnt know the first thing about what they were looking at. At the time the lot was full of xBs and xAs. Im not even sure if the tC was out then or not, but it certainly wasnt as popular as it is today. At the end of the show trophies were handed out and there was a couple hundred dollars for the top winners. That in a nut shell was that.

I would like to add to this for those who dont know ... Scion as a whole is depleating their stock of first gen xB and xA parts. I can tell you that in MD a couple weeks back there was a free for all when a Budget truck showed up and opened the door to 9 pallets of Scion stuff. The host didnt monitor this and a select few went home with multiple ( by multiple i mean 7, 8, 9, sets of something ) sets of tails .. fog lights ... and Scion alloy wheels. I heard that one individual went home with 3 complete sets of Scion wheels. Why? I do know that in Boston 2 weeks ago U.R. was given 5 pallets of the same stuff ... to which they had everyone who entered the event had a raffle ticket. Those who were called recieved a couple of things at once .. butt all winners went away with about the same amount: money wise, as everyone else did. A couple of the top of the line things were given out as more a prestigious award to winners. That is the reason that there isnt any tC parts or 2nd gen xB parts being given out. Scion is depleating their stock to give out as freebees ... and to the best of my knowledge not to make a profit on. I think once Scion finds out that their intentions arent being met, this will only scar us as far as getting stuff at the events we have all grown to love and look forward to attending.

Now you say that TEAM made money on the show. Charging for everything short of taking a leak in the bathroom i can see why. But if you really want to put this to rest, have TEAM post their 501(c)(3) or a 1040 showing that the money is indeed going to a charitable organization. Now that you posted it here on a public forum for all to see, maybe someone should pass this along to the IRS and make sure that every penny that was made is donated. We all know how much the government loves thier cut on profits.

Oh, and lastly ... the 30K that Adam posted that Scion does pay to ship the 3 Corp cars from the Mid-West ( not even Cali ) to a show ... that is all part of Scion Corps budget ... and not the individual dealerships. And beign a truck driver ... i can also tell you that Scion isnt paying 30K to truck 3 cars even if it was from Cali to Philly and back to Cali and then back to Philly then back to Cali ... oh you get the picture.

i just want to throw in my two cents and be done..about this show compared to the show wRXB kevin hosted in 05.

I heard a few things here and there and it is really sad how car shows are no longer about having fun and hanging out with your friends... i remember the first Team Toyota show and regardless of the fact that I had nothing done to my car but painted hubs and a stubby antenna people still had respect for me,.I showed support for everyone regardless of what they did or did not have done to their cars..that is what a show is supposed to be about, not about rudeness or unfairness, or greed.
i also remember how people showed complete disrespect to a friend of mine a few years back regarding another Team Toyota show and that really put things in perspective for me.

i don't care what some of you may think of me or this post .i am here only to show my support to my new team defined the ones who filled me in on a few things that happened at this show.. as small as we are, we don't care what we have or have not done. we are there for each other and that is all that matters...

The show in most aspects was fine. I just feel there were a few things done incorrectly. I didn't see who judged my car and when it was judged. That's the first thing I would have liked to have known - who's doing the judging and when. I didn't expect to win anyway but it would have been nice to see how some people do the judging (especially because I'll be doing this myself soon). I do feel the judging was done fairly, and I've been told that the judges were friendly and talkative. It was nice to see Brett win.

I know I put up a big stink about the raffle, but to be honest, I think it was just a simple mistake. I believe there were 2 bags with the blue tickets and they weren't put together into 1 bag. That's the only logical explanation of what happened (in my mind, at least).

I did get to hang out with some of the usual people, and got to meet some nice new people so that was fine.

I was staying quiet on this show until I heard that my name & my show was being mentioned so like it or not here is my .02

Team Toyota Show 2005 - Yes I put the 1st show on & it went damn well for a 1st time dealership show. I was told by some of the NRG crew that it was one of the best dealership shows they had went to. Being it was a 1st show yes there were some mishaps to be worked out one being that there was just way too many classes & specialty awards & 1st time judges. Despite that I received very few & I do mean very few negative feedbacks on the show. I answered every feedback personally & in a very professional manor. Anywho I was released from my sponsorship a few months before the show & the day after the new show was posted & new blood was taken in to run the next show thus the mishaps never got worked out on my end.

Team Toyota Show 2006 - Cancelled due to lack of registration ( Go Figure )

Team Toyota Show 2007 - I decided due to the unprofessional & otherwise immature way that I was treated by Team Toyota & prolly was not wanted there by them anyway to again not register. Instead me & my daughter popped in as a spectators for an hour or so out of curiosity & to catch up with friends & club members. Also due to the huge wrench I threw into their 2006 show I wanted to see how they did. Allot of the people there (Show Crowd) remembered me & the biggest complaint I heard from them was that the show was very small compared to the 1st one & that the raffle was all jacked up. Other than that I personally thought Team, Adam, & his SV crew did a very nice job putting it together.

Here is my final comments on the show not that it matters to anybody especially Adam & Team.

This was in a sense a 1st time show for them with their new sponsor Adam. Basically it would have flaws just like my 1st show did. Most people think with a second show all the kinks would be worked out, true if it was the same person running it. They did a great job on the flyer & narrowing down the excessive amount of classes I had which I am sure caused less confusion judging. I won't say the raffle was fixed but yes nothing in the 2,000's was called, I found it strange that one of my buddies from a local car club said the rims they raffled just so happened to go to 2 cars with stock wheels ??? Also I know of people who talk bad on Adam & Team Toyota that received parts without a raffle ticket & say they "Had a great time".

What I have seen from this post is people having genuine complaints & concerns & them not being addressed & answered with a people skills attitude. Instead they are being told if you won an xbox your tune would have changed, you guys are ridiculous, always drama on SL.com & can't make everyone happy. Maybe it is just me but that is not how you get a repeat crowd to return to your 3rd annual. I think you guys did a pretty good job but there was some fishy stuff going on & if you want people back next year they deserve answers & it done polite. I don't think they are attacking you, the show or team toyota personally.

If I am wrong here or should be posting this due to my differences with Team Toyota then by all means people, feel free to step in with ur thoughts. I think despite differences I am being fair & polite.

Sorry guys, this is so long. It looks like one of CB's corners

2 of the winners of wheels (Jon and James) have xB2's. Jon doesn't have wheels, but he won stock xB1 wheels - which he can't use because the bolt pattern is completely different. James has wheels.

The bad posts could have been prevented with one simple post.

"I would like to thank everyone for coming out and also apologize for the miss communication about how the accessories would be given out and how the raffle was run. We were able to raise a lot of money for the YMCA and greatly appreciate your donations. I look forward to seeing everyone next year."

Instead we got excuses.

you know what? the bad posts could have been prevented all together if this was handledin the appropriate manner..

one of the responsibilities of hosting a show is knowing how to deal with negative or positive feedback. don't ignore the issue all together and let people fight it out on their own.that's just not the proper way to deal with things.at least not in my book...

it appears that some people felt it was unjust with how the raffle was handled..maybe somebody instead of fighting about it should step up and think about how to improve this rather than nothing at all...

just my opinion..and again i don't really give a rats butt what anyone thinks of me.. i know who my friends are..

from a third party not being there and just reading:

It seems there were tickets put into the bag and some not put into the bag. The scion pallets were freebies and they instead took money to raise for the YMCA but no one can say how much was raised. If Chris(cbsimonsez) is right, that they were freebies not meant to be raffled out thats a lil messed up.
