ok so i'm pre wiring my new headunit. i'm a bit stumped on a few wires.

off the headunits wire harness theres a wire maked
illumination control. but on the vehicle harness theres
two wires marked positive dimmer and negative dimmer.
what goes to what?

then
off the headunits wire harness theres a wire marked
"to a live terminal in the fuse block connecting to the car battery
(bypassing the ignition switch)(constant 12v) and off the vehicle harness
it says 12 volt batt/memory and both are yellow. just not sure

then
off the headunits wire harness theres a wire marked
"to an accessory terminal in the fuse block. and off the
vehicle harness its labeled 12 volt ignition/acc..... they are both red

just not sure about the labeling. all of it so far was color for color.

and does anyone know if the tv will work if i don't hook up the ebrake cable?

I never hook up illumination or dimmer at work. But since its a screen I would. Look at the plug that connects to the car. One of those wires will connect to a sold green wire. Use that wire and connect it to the orange wire off of the JVC radio.

U got me on the dimmer question, I would assume the Positive lead would be the answer. Frank mentioned the Yellow and Red...the yellow needs constant cuz of memory functions.

As for the e-brake...depends on the head units set-up. Some just need to be grounded once to activate the monitor, so you can just permanently ground the wire and you'll be in business. Some need to be grounded on and of 2-3 times to activate the monitor, if that's the case you can ground the wire but need to insert a on/off switch in the circut. Then you just toggle on and off whatever amount of times the unit requires till the monitor stays on.

Ya then you get into the ones with built in gyros and need to take the phone mute wire out of its pin location and move it to a different row lmao.

Jeremy you will be fine, I think Lisa has my screen name so hit me up if you need something.

Back when I worked at Circuit, we didnt have access to the wiring diagrams. Everything was based on actually knowing what you were doing. So we had to look and hunt for everything and figure it out. I wish we had the diagrams back then!

Finding the wires for a head unit is no problem when you have a DMM. Doing remote starts is a pain when you dont have a diagram tho.

I'm guessing you can't get the diagrams from the manufacturer
