Default First Time Driving XB in the Snow !

This is the first time that my XB has been in the snow, I am used to having a 4wd Blazer and I have to say, I am very impressed !

In Hanover this morning the roads were not plowed, I drove with a level foot on the gas around 25mph and steady, the XB seemed to go very nice with no noticable slippage, even on small grades, it went right up .....

On the drive down here to DC, the Maryland roads were the same, no slipping except for some back country road that was no plowed, it had 3 large hills to climb and the little warning light came on, I noticed a little slipping while climbing the hill, went right up with no issue ..

I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH MY XB .........

Here too! I have always had front wheel drive vehicles but the XB is by far the best I have driven in our Michigan winters.
I also have the TRD coils - if anyone is worried about the slight drop these coils make for winter driving - You don't have to mine drives great.

I formerly drove a 2WD pickup truck, so the XB is a major improvement. I was driving in snow last weekend and when I stopped, I couldn't get moving again. Up to that point I had no problems at all. So, I backed up a little and managed to get going again. I then stopped and stepped out of the vehicle, and suddenly felt myself hurling towards the earth. BAM! It was so freakin' slippery that I could hardly stand up. I managed to get this pic after brushing myself off and finally, with a lot of effort, getting up:

Ultimately, I am pretty impressed with the XB and it's snow performance.

You mean your steady foot and not-so-bad tires were good... the actual vehicle doesnt realllly have much to do with it... except that its a front wheel drive... but a rear wheel is just as well if you have great tires and some skill
But happy for ya! My tires are balding, they were great last year (even tho people *think* they suck) and this year theyre still good'nuf... welcome to DC too!

We had to drive all the cars around the lot today at the dealership so they could plow it. Through 10 inches of snow the xA, xB, and tC performed very well. No problems at all! Of course I left my xB at home and drove the Focus to work. I havent had a chance to put my steelies back on yet. Z-rated does not equal snow-rated...

screw that. drove my box through the snow for the first time, and it sucked. I blame the all-weather tires, though. Getting snow tires put on tomorrow.

seriously, though. Almost rear ended a guy today by an inch. and i was going way slow. i need new tires...i've only driven on them for 2000 miles though.

Just to give everyone the heads up if you are rockin an automatic xB turn the traction control off if you are haveing a hard time moving after you have come to a stop in the snow...you will just continuously spin then bog then spin then bog...you get the idea
