when you have an engine with an extra lobe that opens up at 7K its kinda useless

+ if you want to go turbo down the line the SOHC has a lower compression ratio

when i said the VTEC engine swap i meant to a DOHC setup the B16C for example.

 

Oh, left out a minor detail. Maybe B18C although if we are talking 90's Honda motors I'd rather have the B18C5. If I didn't get the tC I'd probably be running that in a 5gen hatch, with god knows what done to it.
