For a dramatization of your roll over take your Star Wars metal lunch box and roll it down a hill to see the effects and mechanics of the roll. For maximun effect place some pink fuzzy dice inside the lunch box.

I have a question....
Once again it seems that I failed to follow the driving rules and managed to get myself a ticket this weekend.
I got pulled over for doing 89 on a 65 on the NJ Turnpike..which meant that I was going to get a double Fine....After talking to the officer and being polite and talking about my box, he gave me a brake and only gave me a 74 on a 65 which means that I will only have to pay a $100 Dollar fine...But here is my question:
I got pulled over by NJ State Trooper, I have NY plates and registerd in NY, He mentioned somenthing about 2 points in my license...I was under the impression that NJ DMV could not give me Points if I got pulled over and given a ticket being that I am from NY...Is that right? Am I going to get Points??? :D :D
PS: The Statie picked me off about 300 yards with the Laser Gun he had...he even showed it to me...LOL...

Inklord.....
Most states are considered "Participating states" which means that if they are part of the group then any tickets, Summonses and or Arrests can affect your points record.
This reminds me!!!!
If any of you get a Sumons from out of State always ask the Officer if there State is a "Participating State". If so the Officer / Trooper can give you a Ticket instead of the Summons. That way you are not obliated to return tot he State you made an offense in in order to appear in Court. You just get a ticket.

how would you find out how many points you have on ur licence, i got pulled over this summer on the AC expressway with PA plates doin 93 in a 65 , i didnt fight it i just sent the $230 in right away but i got no notice in the mail about points.
Winksxb......
You have to go to The Department of Motorvehicles department and request your driving history record. This will show your record going back three years (atleast in CT) along with point totals. This cost approx $10.00.

Here is another one. I have been bothered many times in my life when I see Police vehicles travelling at insane speeds without any lights and/or sirens. What bothers me even more is when I see one of these fast-moving officers well out of their reasonable jurisdiction. If I see a police car travelling well over the speed limit, way out of it's jurisdiction, and not travelling towards it's jurisdiction (as in going to a call), can anything be done about it?
Mattman.....
You have every right to call it in, but things you may not know....
-The Officer may be giving Mutual Aid to a neighboring Town / City
-Officer may be part of regional Metro Traffic, swat, critical incident response ect
Lights and sirens are used at code 3, An Officer at code 2 may still travel at a higher speed and use lights only at intersections.
By the way don't assume it's an abuse of authority when you see a cop use lights and sirens to pass an intersection and then turn them off after passing the area. That is a standard Code2 response.

No actual speed limit is set. Code 2 is pretty much a get there quickly with out utilizing a Code 3 response.
Don't let us bug you. Like I posetd in a earlier page I am the worst driver out there becasue my job has made me create bad habits.
I drive fast and do all sorts of stupid stuff when Im off duty. I have earned a lot of smacks behing my head from Mrs ScionCop.

Anyways, I have a question for you.
I have been considering getting a white Crown Vic with black windows, adding a "Police Interceptor" badge to the back, chrome cop style wheel trim rings, and putting in full cop light package. I know the lights are totally illegal in all situations. How likely do you think I would be to get pulled over for speeding in it (lights off, of course)? I know that I personally can (most of the time) tell whether a car is a cop or not going by the plate. Do officers try to avoid stopping vehicles that appear to be police cars to prevent bothering other officers? Or can you guys tell who to stop or not?
Komik_Tc....
Its still a Cose 2 response if someone is trying to steal my Boston Creams. This would also require a complete and total beatdown.
As far as getting your vehicle (Crown-Vic) to look like a Police / Trooper Interceptor
1-Besides the lights Red/Blue lights, the rest of the car is legit.
2-Having a spot light is a violation, need a permit for it.
3-The Interceptor badge is just an indicator of the Vehicles edition ex, SE, LE, XLT, Limited, Police Interceptor.
You may get away for it for a while but eventually you may get caught speeding. I f you get caught and get identified as a civilian with a look a like Police Car then a message will be entered into the NCIC.
When ever a cop runs your plate the message will appear stating that your vehicle is not an official Law Enforcement Vehicle.
You are leaving yourself wide open to getarrested for impersonating an Officer if anybody ever says that you tried to pass them by flicking your lights ot tail gating them in the left lane. Beleive it or, Civilians will complain about us and our driving all of the time. If some calls in your plate then you could be in a real jam.

The arrest would require some articulation from the complaintant but it is possible.
If you flash the red and blue's your toast. Following to closely and flashing your highbeams is a stretch to be honest but is possible.
Once word gets out about your car "and it will", your local Law Enforcement will keep a heavy eye on you and also keep track of any complaints. If a pattern is developed it can all come back to haunt you.
Like I mentioned, your reg plate will get a NCIC message attached to it so Cops will make a report on complaints against you. Even though initial complaints may not get you arrested, the info is kept as a log and may be used against you in court when you do cross the line.
A list of complaints, the appearance of your car, and any and all circumstances leading to an arrest can and will be used against you in Court. Be carefull.
