Default So my mothers car was hit today in a parking lot.please help

so my mother has a 2008 civic and she was in a mall parking lot. she goes in and did whatever she had to do and when she comes out the back of her car on the passenger hand side was hit. shes not at fault in anyway cause the car was parked. what does she do in this case? she doesnt know whether she can claim this to her insurance or anything. should she make a police report or jus call the insurance and tell them what happened. she was in the mall for about an hour.

any advice or any of u know what to do it would be much appreciated. i just dont know what to tell her cause i have no clue. can she call the insurance to tell them her car was hit and it wasnt her fault. will her insurance go up? should she do a police report?

please help. thanx in advanced everybody

This has happened to me twice.. get a police report.. if possible and just call insurance.. it wont go up.. just have her tell them it was a hit and run.. she'll just have to cover the deductible and thats it.. and she'll be up and running in no time.

IT should be covered under comp...you pay deductible and that's it. Get a police report..go to your favorite autobody shop and get a quote. Then call your insurance company and say you got a quote and you need one of their adjusters to come out and work out a price.

That should be all you should have to do.

Wow hope this works it self out. I was hit once in a parking lot, and saw the guy, called the police, and since the guy was an "illegal" the cop couldn't do anything. The damage wasn't bad, but the cop said he couldn't do anything and let the guy drive off, to this day I still don't understand why. Either way make a police report.

my car got broken into and my system stolen when i was working at the mall one summer. i had to file a police report when it happened. the only thing that sucked is that the mall security camera over the section i parked in was conviently "not working". i had to go to the mall and talk to the "cheif of mall security" and he's the one to help review the tapes and see if they notice anything. you gotta HOUND the mall cops tho and make sure they work on reviewing the tapes - even stay there until they do it. it's all computerized so no reason why they can't do it right then and there. and then you just wait. but if u file police report that should help with the insurance.

i walked out of my job today to see the drivers door of my b caved in. i just called my insurance and told them what i found wrong with my car. they told me it is covered under my uninsured motorist and all i do is pay the deductable. i've already set up an appointment with the body shop to get it fixed. what sucks is i just got it back together from the last time this happened.
