ayrton senna died 14 years ago today.one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. there is a video of his last lap. there is something chilling about watching the last few moments of someone's life and watching the youtube timer count it down. no one int he public has ever seen the last 1.5 seconds.

What had likely happened was that the right front wheel had shot up after impact like a catapult and violated the cockpit area where Senna was sitting. It impacted the right frontal area of his helmet, and the violence of the wheel’s impact pushed his head back against the headrest, causing the fatal skull fractures. A piece of upright attached to the wheel had partially penetrated his helmet and made a large indent in his forehead. In addition, it appeared that a jagged piece of the upright assembly had penetrated the helmet visor just above his right eye. Any one of the three injuries would probably have killed him.

found a video from that race. all these wrecks are from the same race! Rubens Barichello still races today. but the other guy Roland Ratzenberger, ALSO died that weekend! absolutely horrible stuff.

So, I went to Miami Cafe tonight with a friend... really quaint place with upbeat latin sounds and a respectable menu... mostly Cuban inspired cuisine. It's like Copa's but with crappier drink selection. When picking between the two, I'd stick with Copa's if you're on South Street.

PS: I saw lots of modded tC's on South Street tonight... a black tC with Kaminari wing (maybe the full kit, I can't tell). A white tC that was lowered and had Injen stickers in the window... some stock tC's. The modded tC's were out of towners (NJ). The white one drove past with some dudes in it while I was dining at Miami Cafe.

 

the black one is one of the first modded tc's out there. his name is johnny. Has the full kaminari kit on it, sick interior, and motorized trunk.

 

hey that reminds me when we saw johnnys car on south street....i heard he might be getting rid of it soon. hes gonna be a dad soon

 

I'm thinking about getting my front window tint removed.. or replaced with 35% -- I'm at 15% now. The last time I was pulled over the Horsham police officer said I couldn't have tint from the b-pillar forward but from the b-pillar back I was fine. Hmm... what to do?
