and to be frank..i would be ____ed if my gf went around all sneaky like that. if there is a problem confront me about and talk to me..
She just wants to see WHAT he's doing on the pc. She has a very good idea that he is cheating on her. And obviously there's more to it than just the stuff he's doing/hiding online, but it may give her concrete proof that something is going on.

in that case....go for it. there should be some kind of software to log keystrokes and you can find his passwords easy enough.

Shannon, if there's specific information she wants from the computer in question, specific techniques can be used. From the most direct methods where she or someone who knows what their doing has access to the system to inserting USB stick with software designed to automagically begin transfering sensitive information like usage logs, usernames, passwords, conversations, etc..

I should warn you though.. there's a legal component to what it sounds like you want to do. If you're caught you could face civil, maybe even criminal charges for invasion of privacy, vandalism, and a host of others.. Unless you're a law enforcement entity with a warrant for a search of someone's personal property, you're breaking some law.

Now, if you get him to log into your computer or any other computer that you have permission to use with a keylogger installed, that's a gray area but you generally won't have anything to worry about, legally. Also, it'll be harder for him to detect that anything is fishy because he'd be unaccustomed to the computer.

Now that I've been sufficiently disclaimed, you may want to check out:

Thanks for the warning, Vince. I'll pass it and the links along to my friend. I'm having no part in this little sting. I'm just trying to help her find the tools to use to catch him in the act.

Oh, and it looks like my tC is up for sale on the front of the Honda lot. (It was a weird feeling seeing it there.) So I guess they either got the rattling fixed pretty darn quick, or didn't drive it enough to actually hear the rattle. Hmmm....

They couldn't have done that without cutting the bolt that was rusted fast. That's why Brandon couldn't get the strut assembly out to fix it in the first place.
