that crap is awful i dont think i have ever put on the interior of my car. Its like dumping veg. oil on your dash.

i think im going to be dropping my car off at the detail shop. it needs to get cut, compounded, and waxed.

 

lemon pledge works well. I use teh "fresh scent" pledge.

armorall is crap for porous plastics.

 

ive never had a prob with armor-all. i use the wipes (not the spray) and then go over it with a terry cloth towel.

 

Good God no.

Wipe it down with a slightly damp microfiber.

 

wtf is so bad about armorall? isnt it MADE for car detailing? sheesh

 

if you read the bottle, it says to use on "non porous materials"

 

yeah, cuz i obviously assume that my dash is a sponge

i have been detailing for 7 years and not once have i seen a detail shop with it

 

well, when you put a product on the dash, what happens to it. It doesn't magically disappear, it gets absorbed into the material.

*unless its alcohol/amonia based, then it will magically disappear, or evaporate. But that would cause major drying of the plastics, and even more cracking.

pledge grab-it! takes all the dust right off. then go over it with a damp microfiber towel. good as new. did just that this weekend.

 

ive used armorall because its free (from work). it was there...so i used it. didnt know it was such a baaaad thing to use, apparently. *shrugs*

And the cracking thing is absolutely correct especially with the sun beating on the dash board, it dries up the plastic real bad

 

now ya know

 

my sis bought me a car detailing kit for xmas and it has a mini swiffer thingy for detailing. i'll prolly just use that for now....or a wet/dry terry cloth towel.

 

terry cloths leave lint.
microfiber is the way to go.
