ok for serious this is what im thinking if we want to be GOOD drifters.
-SIMILAR SETUPS! me and zack run teh same car but adam and joe run way different cars. i think we should all use the same tires, same motor, similar suspension set ups. fine set up and feel would obvioulsy be tailored to each driver and their technique, but if we ran similar setups no one of us will run away from anyone else or completely out drift the other.
-LOTS OF PRACTICE! we need to have weekly or at least monthly meets of hours of fun! those ari guys edit their video down from 2+ hours to 14 minutes of battery powered heaven.
if horsham hobbies could set us up with a drift track that would draw them lots of customers it could be a very beneficial relationship for both of us. the slide4 drift alliance could sit down and give them a layout of the track as well as the preferred surface and what we would need as well as advertise for them, etc...
after we master that and dont crash into everything under the sun we can run more prefessional looking bodies and not have to worry about our prize shells looking like joes 350z or my lancer.
comments? input?

zack the lighting controller for our light kit is almost out. its $80!!!!
taken from drccentral:
The Tamiya LED Light Control Unit TLU-02 enables various light effects when used with separately available Tamiya LED lights and LED Light Unit (TLU-01). The unit enhances overall appearance and realism of your electric radio control touring car. A total of 16 sets (32 lights) of LED Lights can be lit up by connecting two TLU-01 units. Set-up is similar to an ESC, and is simple to understand even for beginners.
*Requires transmitter, battery, TLU-01 unit and LED lights (not included).
Main light effects
*Select headlights, position and fog lights to reproduce realistic evening and night driving.
*Brake, backup lights and blinkers can be activated according to transmitter operation.
*Hazard lights flash after car stops.
*Realistic passing lights.
*Lights flash during acceleration.
*Siren-like LED Lights.
*Unidirectional flashing of 8 LED Lights.
*Back and forth flashing of 8 LED Lights.

Youre not the only one using this thread buddy. I just went home for a while and couldnt access the internet....
...I agree with the similar setup idea and tons of practice. I would drift everyday if I had the time and place. Good thing we can use the space here for a while every week. I think Zack should totally get on top of the drift track at Horsham. that would rock our D-Spec worlds!!!!

we need at least some kind of predermined layout for the service bay area we use b/c one of my brand new gram lights is TRASHED from getting smashed into so much. we need to come up with a good technical layout that will hone our skills and so we dont look like a bunch of n00bs ____ing around smashing into eachother.
also zack, dont give up hope on the yokomo drift tires. once the rings wear in a little bit the rubber part of the tires will start to catch and youll have way more control and grip. thats what the arai guys use. worn yokomos and half worn ABS.
lets have a moment of silence for my gram light

I want to develop a solution to the stupid camber problem I have first. It's causing the car to hook on one side mid-drift. Getting somewhat aggrivating.
Time to go search the TT01 forums.
