York, PA Meets-last Saturday of every month
They aren't too bad. It's a light car. Front wheel drive. Same as a Xa, Corolla, Yaris... etc... When our cars were snowed in the back lot. The smaller cars were the easiest to get out. To be honest... Second to the 4x4's.
what do you know Chris, you haven't driven that little monster on these crappy unplowed roads. JK!!! I know you know everything.
You're right.
Actually, I got out of the snowed/iced in parking lot at my apt better than others. But I'm not a total idiot and shoveled around my wheels and chipped it out of the pool of ice it had frozen in before I spent 30 minutes spinning my tires. I did get it really stuck in a pile of snow (I'm from MN and I don't get stuck in snow so I was really embarrased!) and had a hellashis time getting started from stop signs. People were passing me and honking. it was terrible.
Then I learned I was supposed to turn my traction control off in fresh snow and it seemed to do better. Read the manual, don't listen to the dealer. sorry chris, that statement had nothing to do with you!

well its a frontwheel drive car...... its not a 4x4!!!! i mean you cant go plowing with it lol..... front wheel is better in snow then rear but you do have to remeber that your in a car and its not made to be driven in extreme situations.... but overall there not bad in the snow!!!!
I'll give it another winter before I offiially say it sucks. I want to say my golf was better but I knew everything about how it handled on snow from having it for 7 years. Like I said, the xB did better in that last storm when I had the traction control off. But the guy helping to shovel me out when I was stuck didn't know how I got anywhere with it as low as it was!
Good thing I haven't dropped it! We just don't get enough snow here to really push your car on a regular basis and learn how it handles. I still have that MN instinct for driving but in a new car everything's a little off.
Anyway, what were we talking about? Oh yeah, this thread is about the gtg on saturday. ;) Maybe we should have a random chat thread and an event thread. now might be a good time to think about that.

you know, I do want to reply to low_down_xB though because I'm kind of disturbed by his post and it makes me feel really bad. I'm not that good at being social and I certainly didn't intend to make anyone feel unwelcome. I'm really bad in large groups and am crappy at starting conversations. I spent my time that night talking to a guy with an xB that just stopped because he saw all the scions, talking with people I hadn't seen in a while, and taking pictures. For me, there were just too many people and groups coming together to process it all.
Oh well, like I said, I feel really bad now. I guess people that were on the fence about coming and have never posted will think that they're not welcome because of 1 of 18. If you're thinking of coming, say who you are and what you drive and I'll find you there! If you don't want to post, pm me or go stand by the green xB when you get there until I see you. I thought everyone was good but I guess we need to work on the welcoming aspect of the group and make sure it's not like a little clique. It's easy to say everyone's welcome, harder to go out of the way to make them feel welcomed.
And adam (ih8civx), I agree, it's harder when everyone's new! I think that gtg was hard too because there were 2 different clubs and if I didn't know someone, I assumed they were with the other group. My mistake.
I could go on but I'm done now.

We're meeting up at 5:30 here in Harrisburg. Tell your guy earl. I'm thinking Sheetz parking lot on Paxton Street. Subject to change without notice. Send me that guys number so I can let him know what's going on. I think there will be too many people leaving Harrisburg to go to York. We won't really have a parking lot to sit in to meet up. Tell him to look for ALOT of cars. I think our little cruise got out of hand.
Harrisburg is gonna eat York in one gulp. Every thing form fast cars to show cars... to hondas.... HAHAHA.
