Default Air Intakes

Are there any street legal air intake systems, either short ram or cold air, in CALIFORNIA?
Thinking about installing one on my TC but I guess I would be taking it out whenever I need to get smoged, right?

There are a few intakes, CAI and SRI, that have been CARB certified, but as far as I know, nothing yet for the tC. One of the sticking points w/ CARB on the tC is the charcoal filter.

Installation should only be about an hour or so, and in CA w/ these new cars, you only need to smog every 5 or 6 years.

where are you at? i might help you to install it.... man.. the last one i did was my own... ouch... it took me more than some elbow grease to wiggle that second pipe in... (scratched mine all the hell up and bent a few things i shouldn't have)

but if anything, i have a better idea on how to install it better now... granted the other ones i've installed on my friends' cars were a little more cooperating. i dunno why mine had to be so tough.... damnnit...

I got a tC intake...................................................................

Trung, the first install always takes the longest. I have something for the fender opening that won't scratch the tubing, and looks good also.

I did the mod to a couple of tCs that bought the INJEN intake from me. Are you going tonight? I'll bring some for you.

The first smog isn't for 5-6 years. After that, it's every 2 years. Hopefully, they'll get approval before then and save some of that R&R time.

There are no smog legal intakes for the tC yet, but when I bought my Kand N intake; it wasn't legal either until after about a year. Now it is legal, I have the K and N intakes for the tC in stock at www.PrecisionMuffler.com and I know that Kand N is very well known for gettin their stuff smog legal. :D

I kinda want the darn TRD CAI to be released. TRD All the way for me. Or I guess I'll wait until K&N CAI becomes street legal.

Any aftermarket intake for the tC may take a while if not at all. Why? Its because of the charcoal filter.

I prefer F5 Fujita, and if I had a tC, it would be running F5 right now.
