Default Bah, what a day...

So I'm driving my brother home from school...

Next thing you know, a SBC van decides to do a U-turn...

and well...

No one was injured. Just glad my brother was okay. I'm just still in shock about it. And a little frustrated with having to deal with insurance.

OH NO! I thought I was having a bad day. Sorry Aoko. That really sucks. People are driving really bad. I hope you don't get the insurance runaround.

Not quite the runaround, but it sure feels like it. The police officer that I made the report to told me that SBC is self-insured, so I wouldn't have a policy number to give to my insurance company. When I reported the accident, my adjuster was kind of worried that they didn't have an insurance policy number available for me. I asked to file a police report, but the officer at the time said since there were no injuries, no report will be filed. She said it was kind of odd, but that they'd figure something out for me.

Not sure what that means, but I'm hoping it'll all work out.

Default hit

What, he didn't writ a report... if he made a u-turn, and hit you that's a moving violation, if I'm not misstaken.. and all companies must have proof of inusruance self insured or not..

Sorry to here about your car, but glad to hear you and brother are okay.

^ the old guy's right ^

if it was an illegal move or a move on a red/yellow light, there should be some legal issue...unless the cop gets SBC services and is afraid the guy'll come and cut his cable....

but seriously.. hop that works out. have sean fix it up or ive been to shanahans once.. okay service, but good work..

Sorry to hear about that, girl! Glad you and your brother are okay.

I understand about the report thing, for some reason the cops don't like taking reports. My first rear ender the cops didn't take a report which I found very odd. I hope this gets taken care of soon.

Big hugs!

Thanks for the concern everyone. I found it weird he too that he didn't take a report. The guy made an illegal U-turn on a two lane street. The cop said that since it was a company car and they're self-insured, they would just pay me to get my car fixed, so no police report is really needed. I don't know. I just hope the guy doesn't try to change the story around.

The insurance guy that came out to look at the car said it'd be at least $4k in damages. He said they'd have to replace that whole panel and possibly the bumper, plus paint it all. Plus the wheel is sitting at a tilt, so he doesn't know if anything near the wheel is damaged yet. We won't know until Monday
