Default To Bay area Drivers...please help

Here's you chance to help keep an idiot off the road and earn $1000 in the process...

$1,000 Reward Offered
For information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver of
the pickup truck involved in the following flagrant action of violence
against a local bay area cyclist. A Monte Vista Velo (MVV) club cyclist
was injured after being run off of the road by a large Dodge Ram pickup
truck while descending on Page Mill Rd. The incident happened on
Saturday, March 25th around 11:00am and the driver of the truck tried to
run many other club members off the road as they road single file down
the hill. The altercation was a deliberate act by the driver of the
truck to send a message to all bay area cyclists that they do not belong
on the public roads.

Description of the truck:

1. Late model full sized black Dodge Ram Pickup with black bumpers 2.
Extended cab with dark tinted windows 3. "Let's Rodeo" bumper sticker on
left rear bumper. 12"x4" black letters on white background. 4. Dark tool
box behind the driver's window. 5. License #6L6????

If you spot the truck matching this description, please get a full
license plate # and report it to the Palo Alto Police Department at the
number below.

The Injured Rider

The MVV rider suffered a class 1 AC separation of the left shoulder and
two broken teeth. He is recovering quickly and has returned to riding
with the club. The injured rider is married and father of 4. He is an
accomplished cyclist with over 25 years of competitive riding
experience. He is also a successful businessman holding Vice President
of Engineering positions at Sun, Kazeon and Oracle Corporation.

"The bay area is one of the most cycling friendly places I have ever
lived in. I've never see anything that compares to this level of
aggression and willingness to inflict harm. My hope is that we can find
the person that did this before they hurt or kill someone else."

You obviously didn't read the header, how do you know that your fellow scion drivers who live in the Bay area don't ride bikes??
If a Scion Driver spots this Truck, gets the Licence plate # and turns it in there will be one less idiot on the road and they're get a $1000 reward...

To you get it now?

Are you serious?

It's one dude??

Think about that statement next time something happens to you or a family member/friend; "who cares, it's one dude"

I'll keep my eyes open!

And my co-worker of mine here in michigan had his car vandalized. And hey, he might drive a scion. And so that means that everyone across the country should care as well. Hell, there IS a reward. I should have thought to post of this situation. How unthoughtful of me.

in case you have not noticed this is Pacific mid.....its not across the county for most of us......you're an idiot. Regardless of whether the person drove a scion or not it was a ruthless crime and the sob driving the truck deserves to be in jail. There is a very good chance that someone here on this section of the forums just might actually see that truck and might be able to help hold that guy responsable.

I'm not defending lucky's obviously callous comments, but he initially responded to this thread before it was moved from the tC lobby to here. As most of you know, the tC lobby is visited by a much broader geographic population than the regional forums("everywhere" as it were). certainly, this thread is more appropriate and hopefully also more helpful here.

That may be true but this one was made while it was in here in pacific mid. I just get a little irritated hearing about people just not giving a damn about other people. May be one person but its probably not the first time or the last that the dodge has done thing. If you look at the bigger picture its never just one anything.

This remark is another thing that troubles me.....I have seen repeatedly the scion community reach out to help anyone and seeing this guy making a remark assuming we only care about other scions is just rediculous.

and as reasonable people i'm certain we all hope and try to assure that at a minimum, at least "our" posts here are helpful as opposed to mean spirited and without value, and no, that was not from a template or manual .

Its obvious that you have no compassion for human beings. As your comparison of a vandalized car to a person is shown in your post. This was a deliberate act to hurt somebody not something. Cars can be replaced. People can't. Maybe now this will make some sense to you.
