So of course like a proud owner I modded the junk out of my xA. Now comes a time and reason that I need to trade it in and start over. Do the local dealers in the bay area give you less for stuff like the AEM intake, DC Exhaust, ect? If so I need to sell the parts and put the OEM spec stuff back on then trade. Pending what is better for trade in a huge list of things might be on the way to the classifieds.

 

for trading in.. typically dealerships don't care about mods... so selling them off is your best bet

actually.... private party sale would be the best bet instead of trade in.

 

well its going to be going to a dealer. so to be clear having them wont add anything, and everything possible that can be removed and replaced to OEM is the best bet? If so you made my day because I should be able to get new rims with everything I can replace.

 

The dealer will not give you anything for your mods, but will mark up your car when they try and sell it. They should give you at least the trade in value, the mods will not lower the value.

Best bet pull off anything you can put it up on e-bay and trade it in, or if you have time stick it on craigs list or auto traider.

 

never trade in anything unless you cant sell it first.

 

You might do better selling privately anyway............
