Default Rear Hatch and Garnish problem

Hey, so I replaced my garnish recently and afterwards I've noticed that when I open the hatch I need to lift up the trunk more than halfway before it lifts up on its own so I was wondering could the shocks be shot? or maybe when I plugged in the sensor, it wasn't in all the way? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Oh also I'm planning on taking it to the dealer to figure out whats wrong and if it turns out to be the shocks would my warranty cover it since i only had my car for about one year?

happened to mine to the point where they were not holding the weight of the hatch anymore. took it to the dealer and they replaced it. i dont think they would care if you had the garnish removed.

ok, the dealer replaced mine, ( after having to check if the shocks is really dead by their techs.. twice). Its like new now but the thing is, is that a month later, the shocks seem sluggish AGAIN. I'm starting to think that its my sub thats causing the problem but I don't know.
