Default So I get a letter from Toyota

Toyota of Fremont.

I had a loan approved through my credit union, and when I bought my Xa at the Fremont Toyota they said they'd get all the paperwork done.

So this letter I got? It was from Toyota financing. They apparently "filed the paperwork wrong" and financed me through Toyota instead of getting the check from my credit union.

So I call my credit union and they say that all they received was a call from Toyota early March asking if I had valid financing set up through my credit union and that's it. Toyota didn't send any paperwork or anything else. So since they didn't get any paperwork they can't give me the lower interest rate for a re-finance of the loan.

So Toyota's "looking into it" right now (needless to say I was a little angry at them). Right now I'm a little irritated.

Wow... I'm glad I didn't go to Fremont to get mine. I checked my bank account today and the check I wrote them has now gone through. LOL I now know a new meaning of the word "broke". Still haven't really heard from Toyota Financing... but if they cashed my check thats a good sign.

Ok, I put in a complaint to Scion Corporate. For those of you interested it's 1-866-207-2466 for most Scion questions or concerns.

Keep in mind!.. My sales experience was wonderful, and the guy that explained my warranty options was very nice and helpful. The issue was in the finance department. I would recommend people shop at Fremont Toyota, but be prepared to do the finance paperwork yourself and don't trust their finance department.

What credit union did you guys use? I am thinking of going with Capitol One Auto Finance. Any reasons why I should or shouldn't? TFS charges too much APR, which is a rip off. I have a credit score of 735 and I could be the best rate if I go with Capitol One. Anyone whose used Capitol One, please tell me what to look for and if they are good or not.

I used Star One, see if there is a credit union through your work.

I would have to agree with Fremont Toyota. My wife and I picked upo our BOP xB in early Feb and the sales guy was very knowledgable and friendly. We went there @ 1130 knew we wanted the car @ 12 got all the options we wanted picked out then spent 3 hurs for the finacials to go through and we were paying by check for it but we still had to go through the finasnce department. I was not a happy camper but I did get some freebies for all of the wait.

Bottom line the sales guy was good the finance department not so good.

That's why I refer to our finance department as the "business office". Loads of legal stuff to wrangle through. Unfortunately it's not as easy as buying a gallon of milk, but it still doesn't take as long to buy a house....at least for now ;)

Bah, buying a house takes no time at all! The hardest part is deciding how much you want to spend

Giving my industry a bad rap

I had the same problem when I bought my truck last year. that sucks..I had to get a new loan through my credit union after the dealerships finance company contacted them and talked them into it and it jacked my credit score fo the latter half of last year showing I applied for too much credit on multiple loans for same purchase...not at fremont toyota though. good luck.
