Default Sunroof problem...

Hey guys im working on a 09 Scion TC. Got a problem with the sunroof closing. the sunroof closes all the way but the sunroof will not come down all the way leaving a couple inch gap between the window and the body of the car. Anybody got any ideas on solving this?

Assuming nothing is blocking it in the tracks, you could try resetting it. I'm not sure there's an easier way but what comes to mind is disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

When you reconnect it, you'll need to reset all of the windows and the sunroof. This basically means holding each button down/open until the window/sunroof is completely open (and hold for a few seconds) then hold the button up/close until the window/sunroof is closed completely (and hold for a few seconds).

This should reset it's open/closed position. If that doesn't do it, you might have a larger issue.

NOTE: If you reset the battery like that you will also need to start the car and let it idle for 15-20 min so the ECU can relearn things. It is normal for it to idle weird or low. Don't worry about it. If it stalls, just restart it and let it keep going. Don't even bother trying to drive it or anything until it is back to idling normally.
