My first thought would be to check your fuses.

Hmmm...where would the fuse be? The one in the engine compartment or the on in the steering wheel compartment...

I personally have not looked for mine yet, but all of my past cars radio fuses were located under the dash inside the car, not under the hood. I could be wrong but I am sure someone here knows for sure.

check to see if the antenna is plugged in or maybe even try hitting the power/source switch.

I assume that its the scion 6-disc right?

everything should plug right in if you are sticking the scion 6-disc into a scion. Try disconnecting and reconnecting it again, but yes check the fuses. Its located behind the pop out on the lowers left of the steering column.

Has any of the factory wires been tampered with? (i.e. cut, spliced)

did you read the sticker on the back of the changer...there is a locking mechanism for the changer that you have to do something with after you receive it from shipping...I just installed mine, but the seller didnt activate the shipping mechanism, so mine just worked fine when I plugged it in (thankfully)...

None of the units we have installed and I have done my fair share have had a shipping lock engaged.
