Tinting question
First, is it legal in California? I have found mixed answers and don't understand when it says it can be darkened 30% but not reflected at all?
Also, if it is legal, anyone know of good cheap places in Norcal? The cheapest quote I have got so far is $220 which seems expensive to me.

In cali the laws are 70% front side windows, and any on all the backs. That means you pretty much cant even tint your front windows. From the factory the windows are slightly tinted.
As far as being reflective they probably mean you cant have any of that silver crap

i've had multiple cars done at just over 100 and a few cars done at almost 200 .
all of em still had good tint and color 2-5 years later .
more than anything look for name brand tint like 3m or llumar
and a good installer , honestly a lot of guys charge close to or more than 200 with crappy installs and subpar materials but they get away with it , and i've come across shops/guys that charge hardly anything and do a good job , using high end materials .

i get mines tinted in Hayward from a guy my friend knew. He charges $150 for 5 windows if you don't know him. I got 5 done for 120 7 for 150. It's been 2 years with the tint and no bubbling or any flaws on it. I don't know what material he uses though but it's not the reflective stuff. Anyways he might be on craigslist since he works out of his garage.
