hmmm, sorry, only the first to post in PNW, lol, its all over the off topic forum, but nice try Leslie. This is the first time I've seen this particular article, the others are from autoblog.
Scioneyes called me from Chicago yesterday after she'd seen the new models. She had photos but wasn't going to let anyone see them like a good girl. Apparently, she spent today doing some major pummeling of the culprits who did release the photos early.
She's wanting the Hypnotic Teal Metallic one...... Can't wait to see that color! I'm not too impressed with the new xB design but I'm sure I'll come around.

I really doubt it will gain anymore appeal to me in person other than being jealous of the power gains with the 2.4L. I am still curious to see some numbers of fuel economy (shocking I know but it is my daily driver) and weight. That will be the most contributing factor in the next year or so for me giving the xD a chance.
I really can't see myself in the xB2 it just doesn't excite me the way the original did. It has lost all of the charm and it doesn't seem like I am the only one. Maybe I will come around at some point but I have a feeling you will be seeing me in an xD long before I'm in an xB2.

For those of you who haven't checked this out. Scion has added the NextGen xB and xD to their website. Here is a link to it: http://www.scion.com/nextgen/ Plenty of photos and features as well as a look at some accessories for them.
I'm still not decided on the exterior look of the new xB but the interior features look pretty sweet! Both the xB and xD have the large rear pillars which eliminates the third windows. That I am not sure I like?

Doug -- lets talk at import motion
Cool site, I still like the xD better. The new premium deck in there looks nice, I wonder if I will be able to pick one of those up from a dealership for my box :D

The new xB2 is not a box, it is yet another mainstream "mothership" (soccermom van/station wagon). It should NOT have inherited the xB Classic's name. It is no longer a friendly little City Car, but instead an inexpensive, nicely styled, mid-America family van - without sliding doors.
This is the silhouette of the xB2:

That is not a box...
The xB2 will do well, and there will be a line waiting for them. It just won't be a lot of the same people who bought boxes - it will be a new group, the people who want a tC station wagon.

Tom, that is so funny to me -- I did the same exact silhouette to show the shape to people at my office. Most people though it was a ford crossover suv or a beefy subaru wagon. If it was lifted a bit higher it would look like my jeep laredo
