Default 270 in the intersection

Let me start off with I did not try to do the following. and i do not think driving like this should be condoned if intentional!

so i had just gotten done with my morning workout and was driving home. I took a left turn like I normally do with a bit of speed but nothing outrageous. Just wanted to make the light. Next thing I know my car is whipping around and I ended up doing a 270. (3/4th of a whole turn) im sitting there thinking "just dont let me hit a car or a curb" but it came out really smoothly. I sit there for a second and im like what just happened so then i get myself facing towards the way i wanted to go and then took off towards home. now my question is:

Is it my rear tires? My front ones are new so maybe the rear are just not following with the car? i dont know. At that moment I wasnt scared but afterwards i was like OH CRAP how did i do that and why did it happen and thank god i didnt hit anyone, any car, or any curbs!

can someone please tell me whats causing my car to lose control? besides the driver.. cuz like i said ive taken this corner and others at the speed i was doing and its only been lately that i feel the car is losing control mid turns. I guess it just wants to be a RWD car and go drifting :-) aww i wish!

!!

Are your rear tires really bad? have you done any suspension mods? if no on both...take it in.... unless you were really hauling a** around that corner (like scary fast)..you should have had no trouble.... I can run this by one of the techs at work tomorrow as well...
If your rear tires are pretty worn, replace them (alot cheaper than a wreck) if you have done any suspension mods recently and it now drives different...that is a whole other conversation... this is all my humble "not a mechanic" opinion...

Sounds to me like the rear tires are worn decently and you would need to replace them but then again, I don't know the whole story and haven't seen them for myself. But if you hit a turn hard and the back end spun around, it would lead me to believe that the grip is not good on the tire because of wear and tear.

Also could just be that you hit the turn harder than you thought and just lost control. Anyways, glad to hear that you are ok........just don't do it again. Might not be as lucky next time.

Sounds like tires unless thats an AWD celica and your powering thru the corners then it might be TIRES. BF Goodrich KDW's get rave reviews.

check the pressure (assuming you've looked and there's tread )... Could even be worn suspension.

I've seen your black gt in Kirkland the past few days. Usually around 4-5pm.

Anyway, back to topic. Its prolly the rears if they're worn down a bit from wear and tear.

Nice find PunkInDrublic. That and the fact that she is only turning 21 and the car is
to fast for someone that young.

If you had a box there probably would not be an issue, of course it would not
be as fun.

I did get my two tires from Discount and they put them on the front. Oh and we found out the reason! i got a nail in a rear one so there was only 12 pounds of pressure in it when there should have been 34! oopsy :-)

i still have a good amount of tread on the rear ones. and i cant complain that only two tires were bought cuz my parents bought them!

You've got two options:
A-leave your car alone and learn to control your rear end
B-have the tires rotated and be more conservative

Sideways is more fun! But not if you hit something! And you will lose control some before you learn the limits. All part of learning. You will fall a few times while learning to fly!
