Default how noticeable is red light camera's flash

was going eastbound on lower azusa at intersection with santa anita in el monte, ca at the exact speed limit and ran what seemed like a short lived yellow, i could see the light turn red as i crossed the intersection. i noticed no flash though and was wondering how noticeable the flash would be, especially at 11pm at night. thanks much

it should be super noticeable

normally the camera will only flash if your cross a certain point after the light has turned red. So even if half your car was through that point when the light turned red, you should still be ok.

Also, it will normally take 2 flashes. 1 flash of your license plate, and another flash of you going through the red light.

Here in TX, if you're already in the intersection while its yellow and it turns red, it isnt considered running a red light. It should be the same for other states, but since you're in CA, anythings possible.

Been to a photo studio for some nice pics? It's about the same as those studio strobes...

During the day you might miss 'em, at night, only if you are asleep.

Im familiar with the Area, but not the intersection. But I can tell you, if you did run the light and it was a Photo Light, you would have known if it caught you. They use Flood Lighting to light the Intersection in the direction of your travel, and by the time you drove through it has taken 18 photos from different angles.

hey, i dunno if its relevant in this thread but here is an interesting fact.
if u do get ur picture taken by a red light camera but are not the same sex as the registered owner u can't be liable for running the light!. my ex-wife was drivin her car that was registered under my name only and she didn't get a ticket.

yea, like tong said, if u do get a ticket u will get it in about a month. if it was like my situation up there, all u will get is a copy of the red light camera picture of the violation and a letter stating what i was talking about. ...........hey maybe i should start wearin a long wig and lipstick when i drive, that way i won't have to worry about red light cameras anymore.

I think the court will want the owner of the vehicle to identify the driver of the vehicle, if he can't then he will be held responsible for the ticket.

i always start counting when i see a yellow and if i make it past in under 4.3 seconds then i know im good. 4.3 seconds is how long yellow lights are supposed to last. any shorter is illegal or something. or so ive heard.

there was some story a while back about california setting their yellow lights to change to red quicker than 4.3 seconds so that they could catch more cars running and thus make more money off tickets.

So not to offend but I have never had to cout or worry about running the red light all because the people that work the cameras here are not tied into the courts so they can take all the pics they want and the cops can look at them but I will never get a ticket in the mail.

this is for anyone living in sac or if u are ever in the left turn lanes at the intersection of florin and franklin. there is exactly enuff time for only 5 cars to make a left turn from when it turns to green until it turns red again. if u are the sixth car in line to make a left turn, u will not make it. don't even try. i have seen numerous cars get flashed from the cameras.
