Another Amazing Trip
Yea, I lived in a town called St. Ives North from age 4-8. The town is about 8-10 miles North of Sydney and was a cool little suburban town. I actually got my first driving (and crashing...and technically car theft) experience in that town in front of our first house at age 4-ish.
We moved there when my father's company moved him out and then moved back to the States when he took a new job. I miss that place, still have a few friends floating around back there that you just reminded me I should get in touch with again.
I just looked at a map of St. Ives again, picked a street that looked like mine and sounded familiar, then sent my mother a text message to figure out which street we actually lived on. I totally guessed correctly! Turns out after all these years I still remember my old childhood home, even if it's just a satellite picture of it! (yes, I'm super nerd-excited about this in real life)
Here's a link to my old house from the late 80's/early 90's!

Zoom out to see the proximity to Sydney.

Not to make you more jealous on purpose, but I got to snorkel the reef when I lived there...

Definitely recommend taking the time to get out there if you've got the time/money. It's a pretty magical place and I'd love to go back now that I'm older and experience the reef in a true dive setting.
Allie, remember me while you're out having fun on your vacation. We will be on a sort of vacation, in the lovely city of either da 'couve or P'town for at least a month in May it looks like.
Robbie if there's anything you need please let me know, I have a house in Portland that you and your amazing wife are always, always, welcome at.

Hey from Fiji! Thought I'd just pop in and say hi and let you guys know about my trip so far.
Got to Hawai'i and ended up staying there for 2 days, then moved on to Guam for 3 days then went to Fiji on the 29th and tomorrow is my last day here (tomorrow here is the 7th, date line and all). Fiji has been AMAZING I did the worlds best shark dive and was 3 inches away from an 18foot tiger shark (and countless other sharks, yes I have pictures to prove it) WITHOUT a cage. Pretty _____in. Got a massage on the beach in one of those huts, drank more than my fill as beer is cheaper than water here and then yesterday I went zip lining through the jungle a few times (epic). I'll post pictures when I get back home to Guam.
