stephen i dont see what your comment on tuned a different temp is about. nothing will happen. you have a greddy turbo kit. it's over the counter and the preset emanage was designed to work at all environments. at jrx we've had fd's that do 600+ dyno tuned here in la and we're racing them in the dead 120+ degree heat of summer in las vegas. no problems. trailer if you want, i dont see why it's necessary.

I have friends where their car is tuned in portland and they run their cars here in Klamath Falls. Up here the elevation is 4100ft and the car runs just fine. It might not as much HP due to the thinner hair up here but they run just fine.

my car was tuned around 60 degrees, which I didn't know temperature was a factor until it reached over 100 degrees here in oregon. My turbo wouldn't spool, and I had major overheating issues with my EGT. The greddy is over the counter, but i'm not using the base map tune. You can't tell me how my own car runs without being the person that actually tuned it. The tuner even said that I would run into issues during the hot summer weather, as well as humidity, and other weather conditions. Not only that, I actually called greddy tech support myself and asked if this was true, which they confirmed. And aside from that, my throwout bearing is bad. I'm glad your friends cars are running well, but you have to understand every car is different.

Why would I not want to drive my car to cali? I absolutely love driving.. especially my own car.. I'm not asking for advice on whether or not I should drive my car, I'm asking for advice on obtaining a trailer for my car.

Stephen it's your car, your baby, we know you drive her every day if your concerned I vote trailer, sorry folks but I'm always going to vote for erring on the side of caution.

And Erik (an actual real life mechanic) who just tore your car apart over the weekend says you have oil expansion problems in hot weather with how your turbo is set up... nobody knows your car like you bud, good luck with finding a two car, I'll keep an eye out for you

I'd go U-Haul... Heck, I did go U-Haul for ScionNight IV when I took my tC down there prior to getting a good tune, as I had the same fears you did.

I personally wouldn't take it down there anyways, as down California way, especially at any HIN event, your car most likely will get blown out of the water... but, heck, it's your dollar, and if you're just going to show for shows sake, spend the cash.

That full autopower cage is nice... I didn't want it because it blocks the glove box hardcore... I saw it on a kid named "Tony" (Taek on SL)'s tC back in 06 and was impressed with it. I got the roll bar as I didn't want to bust any neccesary bones on all the metal up there.

Tim,
Once your car was tuned, in Cali, didn't you drive it home?

Nope... Trailered it both ways for that event... I did stop at Thunderhill Raceway on the way home, took it off the trailer, raced it, then put it back on and trailered it to PDX. I couldn't resist, as I had the whole track to myself for an hour and wanted to see what the turbo setup could do.

(My Wife's Uncle had the track for the day for an event he was running there and they took a break).

Cali traffic + towing a 30ft trailer = trouble.
