don't be scared to drill or grind just because its CF.

I was nervous at first to go at my CF door panels with my Dremel but as long as you have at least 2 layers of blue tape your good. And make sure you have everything suported well.

Triple check where you are cutting or drilling to make sure its in the right place.

Hell at $95 an hour I will drive over there and do it for you. Jeebus thats a rediculous shop rate.

I had to cut the holes for the speakers and shave a bunch of stuff.

You just drill the holes then file the clip areas at either end of the hole and pop in the washer nozzle.....withthe Seibon you also have to dril a path hole onthe under side of the hood.........just dont do like brad and i did and drillthe wrong spot.........that is where paying attention is important........but CF is easy to work with..........just take time.........use sharp new bits........good drill.........and blue tape the ____ out of the area.........blue tape will keep it from having any scratches inthe area should the bit move.........

do it with hood on..........but have help.........that way it is easier.........do pilot hole from bottom and then drill from top using pilot hole as the guide.........take you r time on it..........took me 2 hours to drill and file out the washer holes on the hod today.........then they stil wilnot fit withthe ruber gasket inthem as the CF hood is thicker......so i took it out and they snapped right in perfect........now to get the latch perfect...........

I live in Shoreline. Drilling CF is a no brainer - I'd be willing to show you sometime... perhaps we could both install hood pins one day?

my seibon hood came with already pre drilled holes i just had to file them out a bit to get the washers in them but again why do you need hood pins????? why i ask is because you dont need them unless you are planing to race the heck out of your car or be driving down the highway or what ever road at extream mph???? see brian was going to drill hole for pins but after we got his hood to lock in to place we decided that it will not need them. if you need helping getting your hood to lock into place you might need to move up the hood latch but then again if you need help i think me and brian might be able to help

The blue tape not only prevents scracthes from slipping, It is more important to use the blue tape to help from cracking/ splinters in the CF When the bit exits the CF it will split and crack like wood being drilled. The Tape is a second layer that sandwiches the CF and prevents that problem from happening. I have been a ford tech for 13 years and have drilled many deck lids to install spoilers most are fiberglass acts very mich like CF we also use blue tape to prevent damage. Just take your time double check where you are drilling and it should be a simple job as others said use a sharp bit. If you can get some that are self centering the don,t walk like normal bits. Good luck and enjoy the new hood.

Okay, so I got them, and started to install them (drilled holes in the little rubber stoppers under the hood) and screwed the metal rod through it and screwed it back into the location the bumper came from. this is where i stopped. the angle that they were in there was really goofy. I then tried it with out the rubber thing and used the washers and nuts that they came with, same thing. Im too scared to do it my self. Does anyone know if Seibon has a good warrenty? So like if my hood latch does break they will replace it? Also, if anyone that has installed hood pins on a tc wouldnt mind meeting up sometime and we can do this. I bought some blue tape Sorry if yall think im a wuss or w.e Im just realllly not wanting to mess up a 500$ hood!

bring the pins to the MG tonight and lets take a look at what you have...........sometimes a bigger hammer is needed........did you have the prescribed 2 cold ones prior to install..........

come to the MG and we can figure out a plan for gettign it done..........I went and bought a new set of bits just for such an occasion.........

but we can check the install of the hood and make sure all the latches work right and give you some piece of mind that it is not gonna pop up.......
