Hey everyone!!

On Sunday August 12th, we're going to head to SEASIDE!!!

Kelly from Gladstone has offered to have us all meet at her Gladstone Dealership at 9:30 am.

We would then head out to Seaside from there and do a fun run to the coast. While at the coast we were thinking of doing a family sand castle/car/whatever buliding contest and then judge them. Sounds like there is going to be a Fabulous Prize as well!!
After we're done at the beach - we'll head to Tillamook for some great ICE CREAM!!!

We just spent the 4th,5th & 6th in Seaside.. had a blast [and did the go-cart thing as well... only spun out once] & there seemed to be quite a few Scions in the area [saw 12 in just one day!]
would have to meet the caravan @ US-26 & 217 though.....
&&& just might reserve a room @ Motel 6 for sat. nite just to enjoy the beach at sunset..

will have to get the reservations early tho...[and hope that I can get the trucking/load schedules to jive...]

I think that would work. There's a "Big Lots" and shopping type center there we could all swing into.

 

Cruise to the coast is always a fun thing to do, depends on work and such. See what happens when the date is set, maybe have a poll, Sat. vs Sun., I know some people work Sat., just an idea. Come on people, post up your opinions on this. I know Glen has been talking about doing this again this year.

 

I voted for Sunday, but that's for purely selfish reasons...really either would work for me!

August 11th or 12th is a great weekend for me, if it works for others. We could certainly meet at the Happy Rock, and then meet others out further...

I think this is a FANTABULOUS idea, and I hope we can get it going...

By the way, great pics from today Ben! You have now joined the ranks of good Scion photographers...Robbie (robbiej), Tu (2 tc) and Brian (macster), among others...

 

I should be up for this, too. Sounds fun and there are some great roads down in that area.

EDIT: Doh! I was reminded by my wife that we are going camping that weekend with friends. However, if that falls through, I'll be there!

Haha! It was Maytag, but I think I'm going to pass on the "Fridge" idea, actually. Good memory -- even I forgot about that!

 

Hey it's cool if you guys wanna do a seaside run but just to let you guys know, i'm up at coreyann's right now planning stuff and we're planning on doing an astoria to lincoln city run during labor day weekend. Everyone up here is interested in doing it and we also talked about it at the vancouver meet&greet.

So I totally need to change my vote. My wife reminded me that we have a wedding to go to that Saturday. So I really want to make it to this, if there is any way to do it Sunday the 12th, I am totally in!!

Sunday works for me as well I would love to come and help out. I am not sure that I can since this month and next month as well is absolutly insane, however Sunday is the better day if I could come.

Can we just say we are going to do it Sunday the 12th, and ask people to join in from there? That way, we could make some plans, change the topic, and sticky the thread so people will see it...

I think the plan should be to meet at Gladstone around 9:30, and cruise from here to Seaside, kick around there for a bit, head to Tillamook for the World's Greatest Tillamook Cheeseburgers, and then head out as we want...

Even if it's only a few Scions, I think this would be a great drive...

I had another thought about this...tell me what you think.

Turn it into a family friendly day, and have a Sand Castle/Sand Car building contest. I would supply the pails and shovels, and see if we couldn't come up with a Fantastic Prize of Unspeakable Value for the winner...

Would that be fun? Get some families to come out, and stake our claim on a piece of the Oregon Coast to build some castles and cars...

 

That's a great idea!! Sunday the 12th works perfectly and Gladstone at 9:30. Love it!! How do we sticky this?? Let's make it work.

 

Ben, can you edit your first post? Change it so that the title reads the date, and put the details in the body of the post, and maybe Robbie can help us with the sticky part...
