Based on my wee 400-mile trip to Newberry Volcano, I'd say a cruise control would be a very good idea.

Depending on your tastes in scenery and reading, you might want to check out the Roadside Geology series of books.

I was hoping to make it to one of the concerts in the Gorge this year, but I just can't. Starting a job, getting married 3 weeks after the concert, and much more. I couldn't justify the $$$ and the time.
Have fun, though. I've heard the gorge is a great venue!

Are you going all three days? I'm heading out there on Friday morning at some time...probably like 11 or 12.

What are you plans for the weekend?

And...anyone else that is going i suppose.

In South Dakota around the 345 mile marker and further west keep your camera ready.. there is some rusty tin art, skeleton natives around a big bull god(south side), and another native leading a dinasaur(north side) a bit further, and a few others scattered along the route.

I just traveled I-90 west to east, please watch the "bumps" in the construction zones...rather harsh

I am heading out this Wednesday. like less than 48 hours, lol.

we are driving up through lincoln and then salt lake city, then up north to seattle.

then we are camping on La Push, never been there either but my buddy david knows right where to go. all good!

DMB on sunday night, sep 3rd. it's going to be amazing!

we'll then head back by way of wall sd, and sioux falls, then south through omaha and kc back to springfield mo.

so If you see a TCM xB on steelies with MO tags and Scinergy stickers, wave, honk and say hi!

If you see a silverstone s2000 with an Intec Racing sticker on the front windshield, that's me.

Are you going all 3 nights, or just Sunday? I am leaving the Seattle area on Friday afternoon and heading to Ellensburg first. That's where I am staying for the weekend. Then we'll head over to the Gorge. I'll be out there all 3 nights.

Everyone enjoy the show.

Sweet. If anyone is hanging round, just look for my truck. Stop on by and say hi, we got a decent group going this year.

hmm. changed your route I see. watch the construction in easrtern neb.
be careful going thru Utah/ Ogden canyon. traffic can be a bugger,
after running the route via SLC to La Push.. I see that you will be going down the Columbia Gorge..(I-84 through The Dalles Or.) enjoy the sights!
