Georgia-Pacific Silo Implosion
Didn't know about this until well.. 2pm. The two silos at the Bellingham Georgia Pacific plant in Downtown Bellingham are going to be imploded at 2:30pm...
Now history has given that silo implosions never go well.. we shall see..
King5.com has live but crappy streaming video of the implosion.

Have the feed up on another screen.
You're right, Brian, that taking down this sort of structure has seldom gone 'as planned.'
The Fisher silos in Tacoma kept refusing to go down - started to look like it would take a nuc strike to take 'em out.
Be interesting to see if these co-operate.

Haha, i saw video of that... all those tries and it just would not come down at all!
There were videos on google and yahoo that I watched that simply refused to come down... CDI is the only company i know that has successfully brought silos down.. of course there isn't anything left after those since they overpack them ;)

Two concrete towers that were part of the Georgia-Pacific pulp mill in Bellingham are being blasted down this afternoon. The scheduled time has been delayed, but the demolition should happen soon.
