Going Turbo...Need Some Help finding a shop!
Blow-off valves and diverter valves are essentially the same thing. The only difference being semantic in nature. You say 'blow off valve' and you automatically think "pssshhh." You say 'diverter valve' and you think "psshunk"
I don't believe the E-Manage is capable of overwriting the MAF settings on the Toyota ECU without it being overwritten in a matter of minutes, if it even possesses the capability to do so in the first place.
The only safe way to have a valve venting to the atmosphere on a Scion would be to purchase the AEM Standalone ECU, which can be tuned for Speed Density. Hell, even Evo's use a MAF and the only people running VTA valves are those with aftermarket standalone ECUs or, for the lack of a better term, ricers.
I've heard plenty of good things about Greddy's kit, despite the odd choice of selling the management and injectors as a seperate package, which really has the potential of screwing over the kids who don't research what they're doing.
Just make sure you can pass an emissions test with it installed before taking the plunge. It's required every 2 years in Snohomish county for all cars =/

So does the greddy kit vta or does recirculate, or can it be switched to either? What makes the HKS SSQV different from traditional BOVs? Sorry for so many questions, I just want to make an informed decision lol...
The HKS is popular because of the sound :p
I'm not sure if the Greddy kit VTA's or if it even comes with a bov at all.
If you are going with the greddy kit, I'd suggest installing it or having it installed at the shop that's going to tune your emanage. I've seen one too many threads about the Greddy kit annihilating the engine on the way to get tuned.
