Default Gone Smart...

Well, like many others that are seemingly departing ways.. I'm also going to be parting ways in not pursuing a purchase of another Scion. I love the cars, the concept, and the people. I've seen some amazing things that people are capable of with the will and cash flow is seemingly "unlimited". I have some of the atmost respect for many members and wish those that have moved onward with great luck and success in whatever they do.

Anywho, I'll still be around in the community available for photography sessions.. I placed my reservation for a 2008 Smart ForTwo Passion. Thanks to our friends in the North, I'll be looking at some parts and various items to convert it fully to the Brabus Turbo

It should be fun.. and yes, while it is um, tiny, I am normally by myself and seldomly with another person. I don't haul anything, never had the need to, so it makes sense for "me" and that is what counts.

I'll be sure to drop by sometime after I get the car and feel free to call or email me if anybody needs anything.

Thanks and take care

Hehe, I'm not worried about that at all. I've seen some evidence of accidents from the Canadian Smarts and they are damn durable. The junk yard, several of them I was able to open and close the doors. The worst one even looked survivable. Most of the reports I have read in Europe are promising and reassuring. Trust me, I wouldn't get into a car that I knew wasn't safe =)

I agree and congratulations! I'd love one myself but with a family of five, it's not gonna happen.

Congrats on the new car purchase!! Those cars are pretty cute!

I, too, will more than likely be leaving the scion community come spring. I'm in love with the BMW 135i that's coming out. I might need your skills with some pics!!

Not to sound like a dealer or anything...ahem. But there are several vehicles in the Toyota family that will fulfill the same needs as the Smart. Yaris liftback, heck...xD. I may be uninformed, but the safety and the basic compactness on the Smart makes me nervous. Unless your are strictly driving in an urban environment, I would think that highway driving would be a nightmare. If its one passenger that you need, buy a poncho and a Ducati. Either way Macster, good luck with your soon-to-be new ride.

Yeah, that BMW 135i is going to be a monster. But I somehow sense that the HP war in the under 30k segment isn't going to end there. We'll probably see companies like Nissan lowering price for Altima Coupe, Honda lowering prices for Accord Coupe, and Ford doing something to their Mustang line as well. It's going to be interesting.

The 128i with the 230hp engine is supposed to start less than $30K while the 300hp 135i should start in the mid $30K range. Nothing is definite yet though!

There is a push button at the rear, and the body lifts up/hinges in the front. (where you see the black stripe is where it splits apart)
this is a better Pic. of the '65 Peel "Trident"

and of the '65 Peel "P-50"
a side note.. the P-50 does not have a reverse.. you just grab the chrome drawer handle at the rear , pick up the rear of the car and turn it around to the direction you want to go!
(I did it using just 2 fingers)

to give you an idea of just how small these cars are ... "unk" Lee is 6' tall .
