And then there is the convertible "cabriolet" priced at $16,590.

The awesome thing about these cars also is that they are PURE PRICED just like Scion! The price you see if the price you pay! Low pressure and no haggle - just the way buying a car should be!

There is already an aray of after market modifications in existence in Europe and Canada, where these cars have been introduced a few years ago. Unfortunately not many of them will be compatible with the US-Spec smart except the wheels. The dealership offers two different wheels - but it may take a while to get other aftermarket wheel manufacturers to jump on board. Matt, myself and a good friend of mine, Verone (the current GM of the smart center West Covina in California - formerly of Longo Scion), have already been talking to a couple different wheel lines about starting 3-lug wheel production in anticipation for the smart.

We are expecting a list in the next week or so of 40+ optional dealership accessories to compliment your ride straight from the showroom - so that will also be an option once these cars are available. I'm crossing my fingers to receive my personal smart by the end of January. :D

wow just noticed the whole pure pricing thing. really cool. it is what brought me to scion in the first place. going into a dealership and then getting info and the sales guy saying go home and read up on it and then comeback if you have questions or are ready to buy. when you do buy. he doesn't go oh yeah see this price well that is not the actual price.

also looking at the options on the link i posted above if you click on accessories for smart on the left side of the page. rims pictured are ok. the cargo mat is cool and the safty pack is nice.

Other innovations like the selection of energy efficient and recyclable materials, the removable door panels (you have many options to change color of your smart as you desire)

just get to know a paint shop and buy extra panels...lol new color each week
