Default Grrrrrr......broken into

Monday afternoon, one one my co-workers called me from the parking lot "you need to come out here, your car's been broken into". Well H-E double hockey sticks. They busted out the drivers side door glass. They got an Ipod Nano and Ipod cable, plus my spare cell battery. All out of the console, the only thing that was visible was the cable, and he ripped that out hard enough to pull the whole port assembly out. The cable ticks me off more than the Ipod itself for some reason, probably because they want a small fortune for something that should only be about $20. They hit a Subie in the lot as well, and got a lifeguards purse and Ipod.
Props to Eastside auto glass for a job well done, the guy spent around 45 minutes vacuuming the whole car, front to back, wiped everything down, the inside of the car looked better than it did before the little bee-stard did his evil deed.
Never been the victim before, it sucks, I don't get how these people can do things like this and sleep at night, total disregard for others.

Sorry to hear. They are everywhere. They feel that they should have what you have without working for it.

dang my acura down when i lived in idaho got broken into twice the first time the got the stereo and tried to get the subs the officer told me to hide everything in the glove box so i did so the second time was at a radiator shop getting fixed and they stole the subs, stereo, sliced the glove box and stole the radar detector, and the face plate to the stereo and then popped the hood and stile my spark plug wires. so the radiator shop paid for everything twice over the value of everything. the second time happened to be on friday the 13th when i got the call.

sorry to heard about this, i like how the gloves box lock but would be cool if the lower part of the center console locked too. like on the tc, because thats where the ipod port plugs and stuff would be nice to lock it.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I plan on doing a mod where the Ipod and aux ports get moved to the inside of the console. I got a call from the officer handling the case this morning that they caught a guy breaking into a car, and the guy had an ipod and cell battery in his car that matched mine, unfortunately, they weren't my goodies. Oh well. I don't suspect I'll ever get my stuff back, and I know I'll never get reimbursed for the window.
My hopes are for SL members to use my experience to learn to never leave anything showing in your car, not even an Ipod cable!

Sorry to hear about the break-in. I work on a military base so it's a little bit more secure, though there have been some thefts before. After having the car for 2 years I finally got a Scion security system free form a show for the 1gen xB. Doesn't do anything except make noise, but hopefully it will be enough to scare people off.

I'd LOVE to have a security system (if such a one is made) that would just give the Intruder a Nice ZAP . Just like a Stun Gun.

If they get hurt OH WELL! You Don't F**K with my ride, No Problem.

If anyone has an Ipod interface cable they aren't using, I will gladly buy it from you, the part number is PT546-21062.
I really don't want to pay stealership prices for a new one.
Thanks,
Kiiski
