Scion Evolution was started in early 2004 when Steve ****, Nilo Miranda and I decided to start something new and much different. We were all part of the very first Scion club in Southern California and we wanted to take this to the next level. Unfortunately, the current club we were in had different philosophies so we had to part ways. After a few brain storm sessions and sleepless nights, we were ready to EVOLVE BEYOND NORMALITY - Scion Evolution is born.
We officially launched Scion Evolution at the very first Scion Exposed Event in El Toro, CA. That event was made possible after pitching the idea to Scion Corporation when I was fortunate enough to be invited to the 2004 Detroit Auto Show for the unveiling of Scion’s 3rd installment – the tC. There I have met key Scion personnel as well as the creator of Scion Life, Darren Seeman. After a few post here and there and with the input of California and even Nevada Scion owners, the Exposed event became a reality.
We saw this as a perfect opportunity to launch the very first nationwide Scion club – Scion Evolution.
Exactly one year ago, there were roughly about 20-30 members of this club. Today we have over 700 members and are expecting to double that by the end of 2005. We are in 22 states with over 24 official chapters nationwide. There are several more chapters coming soon and we will keep everyone posted.
The way we envisioned this club was to get everyone involved as our statement says. Be it stock or wild, everyone that owns a Scion will be accepted. We wanted to run the club independently as well and wanted 100% control. We decided to not have any dealerships be exclusive to the club. We would work with all dealerships that would like our help, be it with promoting the cars or helping out in a grand opening event or provide a pool of owners for a focus group. For this reason, the club relies on membership dues as we are not financially backed by any corporation or dealership as mentioned.
We wanted to have members be equal and there was no hierarchy. That is why to this date we don’t call ourselves President or Vice-President. We are all core members or chair persons of the club. Each chapter that has started up has each respective chapter liaisons. So if you are new or have been in the club since day one – we are all equal in say. As members of this club, you determine the success of this organization. We are here to support and help out in any way we can, but the bottom line is that the enthusiasm and dedication of all our current members is what makes us a success.
We are proud to say that currently we are the largest and most widely recognized Scion owners club in the nation. We have been blessed and our accolades are very much noteworthy. We have been mentioned in quite a few publications, either online or on print. A few examples are as follows:
Scion Catalogs – the last 3 mentioned Scion Evolution.
Toyota Today – this is for Toyota/Scion dealerships nationwide. We have been in 2 of their publications.

We would like to personally thank all those members who went above and beyond and help us out as well as Scion and some of our sponsors for their projects. Thanks to all that have done focus groups for Scion. I know a lot of you had the opportunity to meet the engineers of all 3 current Scion models. Thank you for those who have gone to the dealers to provide club support and display cars.
Thank to all that have helped out in every Exposed event to date. Thanks to all that drive for hundreds of miles to attend an event or participate in a focus group at Toyota Headquarters.
Thank you to all that have supported our club – Scion Corp. – Jim Farley, Brian Bolain and his staff. To everyone else at Scion Corporation who have given us all these opportunities. To all Scion Regional Managers who have helped out our chapters. To all those dealerships that have supported their local chapters and provided a place to have meets. To all sponsors listed on our website www.scionevolution.com – We thank you on our 1 year anniversary.
We are a success today and our numbers show it. We would like to personally thank each and every member who have joined our extended family and make us what we are today.
We would also like to thank other Scion Clubs nationwide for their support. Although we all have different ways of running clubs – paid dues, free memberships – local level or nationwide..we all have one common thread and that is – our appreciation of SCION.
In behalf on myself, Nilo Miranda and Steve **** and the rest of the core members in Scion Headquarters – HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY and we hope for continued success and support from all our dedicated members and sponsors.
Here are a few emails that we would like to share to all our members:
“Adrian, I should be thanking you!
First of all, thank you for your thoughtful note. We are trying very hard to create a new type of car company, please keep the suggestions coming. IF we handle this thing the right way, you can become an important voice for all of the Scion customers. Keep the club growing and interesting, lets work together to make Scion the "gotta have" experience that I know it should be. I want to make a product lineup and experience that makes people feel like they purchased a luxury product without the negatives (Price, elite-ism, etc.).
One request to you personally; send me an email every month that tells me what you have been up to and what you are hearing about Scion (Product suggestions, Release Series suggestions, Accessory line-up suggestions, etc.). As well, please invite me to your big get together, I want to get to know your members and add value to the club.
Best wishes from your biggest fan,
Jim”

“Hi, Adrian
I am so excited at the way you guys are growing ... we can't thank you
enough for all the extra efforts!
Cheers!
